  • Will the Husky Silver Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Install in Ford Hitch Prep Underbed Rails
  • No, the only hitches that are confirmed to fit in the under-bed Ford rails of your 2013 Ford Super Duty would be the Reese Elite hitches like the Reese Elite Series Pre-Assembled 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # RP30144. The Husky Silver Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Glider # HT31318-32042 you referenced would not install in the Ford Hitch prep package rails you have so I would not recommend it for you.

  • Will Pro Series 5th-Wheel Hitch # PS30094 Fit On 2012 GMC Sierra
  • Based on my research, the Pro Series 5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch # PS30094 you referenced is a good fit for your 2012 GMC Sierra 1500. It is recommended for trucks with shorter beds as it can move 10 inches closer to the tailgate to increase the turning radius thanks to its slider. It also has a 4-way pivoting head that helps make hookup more secure. I have provided links to a video review of this hitch as well as a video of its typical installation. There are different kits available but I recommend custom installation kit # RP50081-58. Custom kits require less drilling and install in less time than universal or semi-custom kits. The correct Reese under-bed fifth wheel installation kit to fit your truck is # RP30073. Even though you have a 2012 bed, you still have a 1999 frame and Ford has had 2 frame redesigns, one in 2005 and the other in 2011. If your truck has a short bed, you would need to go with a fifth-wheel hitch that has a slider instead. • Fifth Wheel Hitch Bed Rail Placement on 2003 Ford F250 Extended Cab
  • The correct placement will depend on which install kit you are using. I would recommend using a custom kit like the one offered by Reese, part # RP50082-58. The installation instructions for the # RP50082-58 (see link) state that the rear of the back rail is 32-1/4 inches forward of the rear edge of the bed (not the tailgate). This will place the centerline of the hitch approximately 2-15/16 inches forward of the rear axle centerline. These dimensions can vary if you use a different kit.
