Running Lights on a 2009 Mercury Mariner Stay on With Curt Wiring Harness # 56067- I spoke with my contact at Curt and he told me that the T-Connector Wiring Harness, # C56160, was improved from the older # 56067 wiring harness. The new # C56160 harness comes with an improved converter box to prevent any power from back feeding onto the vehicle tail light circuits.
This wiring harness will install the same way on your 2009 Mercury Mariner as the 56067 harness. I have attached a link to the installation instructions for you to reference.

Installing Fuse Holder on Battery in Trailer Wiring Harness 118345 for 2000 Mercury Mountaineer- The yellow fuse holder starts out as a closed loop. You will need to cut it in half. One end connects to the power wire you ran from the wiring harness. The other end will connect to the positive battery terminal. Inserting the fuse should be the last step.

Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Harness Converter on 2008 Mercury Mariner- It sounds as if you might have shorted out your converter box. I will link you to a video that demonstrates how to test the converter. You will test the wires on the input and the output side of the converter. If you have signal entering, but not leaving the box, it will need to be replaced with the # 118551.
You should also check the fuse where the power wire connects at the battery. If that fuse is blown, replacing it might fix your problem.

Is a Battery Connect Wire for 12 Volt Power Included with Trailer Wiring for a 2006 Mercury Mariner- Yes, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118551, does include the wire, and instructions, see link, for correctly wiring the your 2006 Mercury Mariner. The only gray area in the instructions is running the power wire forward to the vehicle battery.

The item you selected, Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 40505, is a fit for the 1992-1997 Grand Marquis and will not work for your 2004 Grand Marquis.
