  • Why Does Curt Hitch for 2009 Subaru Impreza Have Higher Capacity than the Vehicle
  • The trailer hitches we offer have their own weight capacities that don't necessarily mean the vehicle would have the same capacity. Basically they design the hitch to fit the vehicle, test it to determine how much weight it can handle and then release a weight capacity for just the hitch. Often times the hitches are rated higher than the vehicles they are designed for but the overall capacity would be the lowest rated component in the setup.

  • Brake Controller Recommendation for 2015 Subaru Outback
  • You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118467. From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling...

  • Fit and Compatibility of Curt Class III Trailer Hitch on 2010 and 2017 Subaru Forester
  • I wish I could say it was but the confirmed Class III round tube trailer hitch from Curt that fits the 2017 Subaru Forester is the # C13144. The # 13147 that you currently own fits 2009 - 2013 Subaru Forester All Models. There has since been a generation change which is why the previous hitch will not work with the newer vehicle. I recommend using this information to help you sell the current hitch you have to offset the cost of the new one. I have linked the above mentioned products...

  • Recommended 2-Inch Hitch for 2016 Subaru Forester for Transporting 4 Bikes
  • To transport 4 bikes on a hitch-mounted rack on a 2016 Subaru Forester you will definitely be better off using an aftermarket 2-inch Class III hitch like Draw-Tite # 75876. This hitch offers a substantial 525-lb tongue weight rating (TW is downward force on the hitch from what is loaded on it). 2-inch hitches will give you a far better safety margin and also give you more choices of carrier. I linked an installation video for this hitch showing a 2016 Forester. Often swing-away type...

This hitch has a 2-inch receiver opening for Class III accessories like scooter or cargo carriers that have a 2-inch shank. One such example is the MaxxTow MaxxHaul Aluminum Motorcycle Carrier # MT70101. This and others are shown on the linked page. The total combined weight of your scooter and the carrier you use all together must remain within the hitch tongue...

  • Which Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Will Fit My RANS V2 Recumbent Bike
  • The answer between the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450 and the SE2 for Recumbents # HR1450R is going to come down to the wheel base of your RANS V2. The SE2 for Recumbents will support up to a 74 inch wheel base and has wheel hoops adapters to fit the smaller front wheel. I would measure the wheel base of the RANS. That will be the deciding factor for you.

  • Installation of Hopkins Backup Sensor System on 2015 Subaru Forester
  • The Hopkins Backup Sensor System # HM60100VA is not hard to install but does require a hole to be drilled into your 2015 Subaru Forester for the wire to pass through. The wiring also will need to be spliced into the wiring of your car. The all necessary hardware is included. I've attached a video showing the installation on a Volkswagen Jetta. Some of the specific details aren't the same but the general process is. And yes, the part does come with instructions.

  • Which Curt Class III Hitch is a Fit for 2015 Subaru Outback
  • The difference is what vehicles each of those hitches will fit. Trailer hitch # C13206 fits 2014 to 2016 Subaru Outbacks. And # 13390 fits the 2015 to 2016 Legacy and 2010 to 2013 Outback. Although the hitches look very similar for your 2015 Outback you would want the # C13206. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2009 Subaru Forester That Allows Rear Hatch to Open
  • With trunk mounted bike racks you can not open the truck or hatch with the rack installed. It would have to totally be removed to do so. If having access to the rear cargo area of your 2009 Subaru Forester with bikes loaded is important I do have a great solution for you though. My favorite bike rack to recommend is the Thule Vertex Swing part # TH9031XT because it can carry up to 4 bikes and can swing out and away from the rear of the vehicle to give you complete access to the rear...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and 4-Bike Rack for 2017 Suabru Outback Wagon
  • With 4 adult sized bikes that are Treks and Cannondales I would recommend a platform style rack over a hanging rack, because many of them have carbon frames. The platform rack will also give you a greater ability to keep the 4 bikes staggered which will help prevent them from coming into contact which is maybe why that 4th bike never fit with the wider handlebars. A great 2 inch hitch to transport the platform bike rack is the # 75673. This hitch will have a center of hitch pin hole...

  • Fit and Compatibility of Clearance of Rhino-Rack Roof Basket on a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek
  • The best thing for you to do with your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek is to measure. Due to the Rhino Rack # RMCB adjustability it can mount on a wide range of roof rack crossbar spreads from 21 - 30 inches. If your crossbar spread is 30 you will have about 7-1/2 inches of carrier on either side of the crossbar. If your crossbar spread is 21 then you will have about 10 inches of cargo carrier on either side of the crossbar. If you can try to get the crossbars as close to centered as possible...

  • The 2 arms that hold the wheel hoops on the Swagman XC # S64650 and XTC # S64670 fold up so either rack is more compact and easier to store than racks that do not have this feature. This will make it easier to keep the rack out of the way; perhaps leaning it up against the side of the garage for example or placing it in the cargo area of your 2016 Subaru Outback. I have included a picture of what the XTC looks like with the arms folded up.

You'll want to see if you have clearance for your rear hatch to open as well. A couple of recommendations are the Thule Canyon XT with the extension # TH859XT-8591XT which has a crossbar spread of 20-57 inches and measures 69 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 6 inches tall. • Will a Hitch Mount Bike Rack Completely Block the Backup Camera View on a 2016 Subaru Outback
  • I wouldn't say that having the Swagman XTC bike rack # S64670 mounted in the trailer hitch, with or without bikes loaded, would render the backup camera useless on your 2016 Subaru Outback. The bikes and rack will certainly block the view but you would be able to see a little bit. But if you use the camera for parking in tight spaces then I would say that the blocked view would not be much help at all. This is going to be the same situation with any rear mounted bike rack.

  • If you plan on using the trailer for doing some hauling like mulch or topsoil or something that the Let's Go Aero LittleGiant, part # TLK864 may be the trailer for you. The front and rear tailgates are removable. The bed width at 56-1/2 inches could make it a little difficult to carry 4 kayaks depending on how they are loaded and how big they are. The trailer hitches we offer for your vehicle have capacities that are quite a bit higher than that like the Draw Tite hitch part # 75650 but you would have to go by the lower vehicle weight capacity since you are only as strong as your weakest link in a towing capacity.
