Do Wiring or Brakes have to be Modified to Use Blue Ox Patriot Braking System on a 2012 Ford F-150- On your 2012 Ford F-150 you should not have to modify the wiring or the braking system to use the Patriot # BRK2012. Since your truck uses a combined lighting system (turn signals and brake lights are on the same circuit) you will not need a brake light relay.

- You can install the controller basically wherever you think will work the best for you, it is not required that you put it behind the front seat like the video I attached shows, but you may find that installing it on the driver side of the vehicle will make the install easier.
