  • Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit for a 2015 Ford F-350 Long Bed
  • Welcome back! The Reese custom installation kit # RP50073-58 fits the short and long bed versions of the 2015 Ford F-350. But just like with the short bed version you will need to replace the hardware because the hardware from the 2012 Ford truck cannot be reused on the 2015 model. For replacement hardware you will need kit # RP50073F to attach the underbed brackets to the truck frame and hardware kit # RP58430 to attach the above the bed rails to the underbed brackets. I have linked...

  • Correct Curt Manufacturing 5th Wheel Install Frame Brackets for 2000 Ford F350 w/ 8 Foot Bed
  • For your 2000 Ford F350, the correct frame mounting bracket kit would be part # C16443. For the frame bracket/ bed rail kit, use part # C16443-204. If you already have Curt bed rails, you can certainly use the # C16443 by itself, but we don't recommend using frame brackets and bed rails from different manufacturers. They WILL fit, but since they haven't been tested together, using brackets from one manufacturer and rails from another could yield an unknown weight capacity, which would...

  • Recommended Tekonsha Plug-in Brake Controller Adapter On 2014 Ford F-350
  • Since you are replacing the Ford brake controller, the installation will be a snap. You will just need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, part # 3034-P. This simply plugs into the port that is located beneath the dash of your F-350. I have attached a photo that shows the location of the port and how you get to it. To reach the connector, first locate the notch in the access panel in the center of the dash, near the passenger side. Using a trim panel puller, carefully pry the panel...

  • The correct rear axle Timbren Jounce Spring kit for your 2008 Ford F-250 4X4 is part # TFR250SDF. The kit # TFR350SDF you referenced fits the F-350. Any suspension kit can potentially have interference with either a 5th wheel or goose neck hitch if the two items require the same mounting points on the truck's frame. You can use the Timbren installation instructions I have linked to see where these jounce springs attach (in place of the factory bump stops) and compare that to your hitch...

  • Camper Tie Down Recommendation for Short Bed Ford F-250 with Factory Hitch

  • Will Using a Reese Goose Box Provide Enough Height Clearance Between Truck and Trailer
  • First, you should not have to have a taller ball to use a Reese Goose Box. It couples to a standard 2-5/16 inch ball. The Goose Box measures 19.2 inches from the center of the lowest front bolt hole down to the bottom of the coupler that couples to the ball. Compare this to your current set up. You need 5 or 6 inches between the tops of the bed sides and the bottom of the 5th wheel trailer overhang. If you determine a taller ball is needed you could use one. Regarding the horizontal...

The hitch also has pre-drilled holes that can accept TorkLift camper tie-downs. I have attached a link to our product page for the TorkLift tie-downs. • Should there be a Gap Between a Convert-A-Ball 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter and Truck Bed
  • You can determine if the Convert-A-Ball adapter # CAB-C5G is properly secured to the ball before towing. There isn't really a safe way if the adapter is already installed. If you were to uninstall the adapter then you could place it on the ball manually and pull up on it to make sure it is coupling correctly but it does sound like it is. There should be some space between the bottom of the coupler and the truck bed. Otherwise the adapter would damage the truck bed.

  • Troubleshooting Weak Trailer Brakes on Trailer Towed by 2006 Ford F-250
  • How many axles does your trailer have? It could be that your trailer has more axles on it than the integrated brake controller of your truck is equipped to operate. Most controllers are good for two brake axles, but only the more expensive ones can operate triple brake axles. If your axle is 3 inches diameter, the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, # K71-385-00, would be a great choice and if your axle is 2-3/8 inch diameter you could use the Over-Under Kit, # K71-384-00. When the valve is open, the auxiliary tank would then feed the main tank on your 2007 Ford F-250. The valve on the auxiliary tank should not remain open. Doing so could cause issues with the vehicles computer system as well as possible pressure build up in the tank. Instead you will want to wait until you are stopped to open the valve and...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Axle that Wears Inside of Tires Out When Unloaded
  • Before you replace your axle you should try taking your trailer to a shop that has experience in aligning trailer axles. It sounds like your axle just needs an alignment, or someone flipped the axle in an attempt to raise/lower the trailer not realizing there is a bow in the axle that doesn't allow axles to just be rotated 180 degrees. Instead you have to install new spring seats on the other side of the axle so that the bow stays facing down. Since we cannot order in custom axles at...

This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. If the trailer weighs 10,415 pounds (8,315 + 2,100) then the tongue weight is likely 1,041 to 1,562 pounds...
