What is the Weight Capacity of the Swagman Titan Trailer Hitch Mount 4-Bike Rack- On the Swagman Titan, # S63410, the single bike capacity is 35 pounds. The capacity of the rack as a whole is 100 pounds. So if you had four 30 pound bikes loaded that would exceed the capacity of the rack, you are correct.
We have other 4 bike racks that can accept more weight. The Thule Vertex, # TH9029, for example can handle 140 pounds total (35 pounds per bike). But with its straight shank, the Vertex is not going to offer any additional ground clearance. I have included a link to a vide

You should have enough capacity for both the bike rack and the bikes, providing your owners manual states you have enough capacity and you do not exceed the capacity of the lowest rated component in your setup.(bike rack or hitch)

Carrying More Than 2 Bikes with Class I Hitch on 2010 Honda CR-V- The hitch and bike rack manufacturers all agree that a bike rack installed in a Class I receiver should be limited to two bikes. The weight is not the only issue, any additional bikes added will put the load of the rack and the bikes further away from the receiver opening. As this distance increases, so does the leverage applied to the hitch and its attachment points to the vehicle. This leverage can bend and eventually break the hitch or cause the hitch attachment points to the vehicle to fail.

Why are Some Bike Racks Rated for Use Behind RVs and Others are Not- The ride at the back of an RV is considerable rougher than at the rear of a passenger vehicle. The reason is because the rear of an RV is extended well beyond the rear axle which acts like a see-saw and creates a lot of movement which puts a lot of stress on the racks. Why A Class I Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Toyota Prius Can Only Carry a 2 Bikes on a Bike Rack- The issue with a Class I trailer hitch is not how much the bikes weigh, entirely, it is the amount of torque produced by having weight further from the hitch.
