  • 2014 Xterra Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation
  • This wiring kit # C55441 is recommended by Curt for your 2014 Nissan Xterra and is designed to be used on vehicles that had the factory tow package in place from the factory, including any relays. What you can do is use a circuit tester like part # 3808 to test the port first to see if it is active when applying taillight functions. If the port has voltage there then you know you don't need any relays and the part # C55441 would be the correct wiring harness.

  • Hand Winch With Top Crank Handle for Loading 5 x 8 Utility Trailer
  • The only problem I can see with your choice is that worm gear winches take a lot of cranking before anything happens. The crank revolution to drum revolution ratio is 30:1, meaning you'd need to crank the handle 30 times to make the cable drum rotate once. You can lessen the pain by removing the handle and using a heavy duty 1/2 inch drill with a 5/8 inch socket to turn the winch at a less sedate pace. Due to the fact that you're wanting a top crank winch, your choices are pretty limited....

  • Finding Correct Replacement Leaf Springs for 4 x 8 Utility Trialer
  • The first thing you'll want to do is determine the capacity of your axle. This can usually be figured out by the getting as much of the following information as possible: Wheel bolt pattern (# of lugs and bolt circle diameter, see help article) Inner and outer wheel bearing reference numbers Axle tube diameter With at least two of the above, we can make a pretty good guesstimate about the axle capacity. When that is known, we'll look for a leaf spring that's a bit shorter than the...

You would want the Hidden Hitch part # 87578. This is confirmed to fit your vehicle and would work well for you. Check out the install video I attached as well. • To carry bikes on your 2012 Mini Countryman, you'd need to either use a hitch and a hitch mounted bike rack, or you'll need to install a roof rack and carry your bikes on the roof. None of our bike rack manufacturers offer a trunk mount bike rack that is compatible with your vehicle. • Releasing Some Pressure From Trailair Air Ride Pin Box to Make Hitching Up Fifth Wheel Easier
  • It's a matter of personal preference. Letting some of the air out of the bag would allow the bag to compress a bit as you're hitching, which means you wouldn't need to raise the fifth wheel quite so high. If letting some of the pressure out of the air bag makes hitching easier, by all means, do so. Keep in mind, however that you don't want to let all the air out of the air bag. I'd leave at least 10 psi in there. Once the fifth wheel is hitched up, you can refill the air bag.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes That Lock Up When a Brake Controller Isn't Installed
  • Sounds like you have some corrosion in the 7-way on your tow vehicle. This is causing your brake light circuit to short out onto your brake output circuit and causing the trailer brakes to lock up. This would also explain the weird readings you are getting with your brake controller when it's not hooked up to a trailer. Look for corrosion on the inside and outside of the connectors, or even cut or exposed wire that runs to the connector and fix as necessary. I attached an FAQ article...

No problem if you're using it on a small motorhome, but if you're speaking of a camper or trailer, you should really use trailer tires. The 4-bolt rails are much bigger than the 10-bolt rails. On some vehicles the 4-bolt design will install easier than the 10 bolt design, at the cost of reduced truck bed space. The round bar extends about 2-1/2 inches below the weight distribution head, while the trunnion bar does not extend below the weight distribution head at all, as you can see in the side-by-side photo I edited for you. This is why we recommend folks that have vehicles with low ground clearance like minivans and compact trucks go with a trunnion bar system.

  • Recommendation to Get Better Front Wheel Ground Clearance When Using a Bike Adapter
  • The easiest solution I could make for you to help level your bike would be to raise your seat so that the front wheel will move up. The rear wheel will lower slightly when doing this, but the front wheel will move up and you will gain ground clearance. I would not recommend loading your bike upside down. Our bike rack manufacturers do not recommend carrying bikes in that manner.

  • How to Remove a Broken Key From a Yakima Cargo Box
  • What you can use to grab the bit of broken key that is sticking out of the lock core is a set of nail clippers. First I would recommend using a penetrating lubricant like WD-40 with the straw to direct the oil into the lock core, and then using the nail clippers grab what is sticking out of the core and turn it if needed and remove the lock. With the lock number on the head of the key you can order a replacement key. You will need to enter the part number Y8772-XXXX in to our search...

Only thing is Class I hitches are restricted to only carrying two bikes. Any more that will put undue stress on the hitch and could potentially damage it. • Installing a Brake Controller in a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer with Factory Tow Package
  • If your 2006 Chevy Trailblazer has a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector then you would not use a brake controller wiring harness. Instead, the tow package wiring to install a brake controller is located under the dash. You will need to splice the wires from the controller to this wire bundle. The wire bundle is located under the dash, to the left of the steering wheel. It should be held together with a white tag. The tag should list the functions of the wires. On the brake controller,...

  • Will a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk have Same Towing Capacity with or without Factory Tow Package
  • What you will want to do is check an owners manual for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The corporate folks at Jeep, not a dealer, have the final word on this subject. It is possible though that they are correct because there are often things included in a tow package that cannot be replicated using aftermarket parts. For example, different rear end gear ratios, changes to the transmission, and different motor tuning. The sure bet is to go with a model that has the factory tow package. But if you...

Then you will have a 6-Way square to 4-Way flat adapter. The other option is to just replace the 4-Way flat on the trailer with the trailer end 6-Way that comes with # 37995.
