I installed my Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller about a year ago in my 2010 Chevy Colorado. It mounted easy and works well. Fortunately my truck was prewired for a brake controller. It automatically detects a trailer that is hooked up.
Just finished installing my Hopkins brake controller with the plug in wire harness for my Toyota Tacoma. Couldn't have been simpler. Took about 10 minutes. Took longer to find the factory connector which was part of the tow package on my truck. Nice product, also reached out to the tech department last night around 11pm and had the answer this morning at 7:30 am. That's great service, could have gotten it a little cheaper through another site, mainly because of free shipping but quality service like this is worth plenty. If I need any trailer accessories again etrailer will be who I call.
This was the second brake controller that I have ordered from etrailer and installed in different brand vehicles.The wiring harnesses were exact to specs as well as the instructions for installation.
First I would like to say etrailer is a great company to work with, they made contact with me by phone no an email to let me know that my parts were bcaked ordered and if I I was pressed for time they would send another like unit ASAP.
Though I haven't had the opportunity to try the brake control the wire harness I ordered for my 2002 chevy silveroda and Control went in with no problems
So easy a cave man can do it. Just plug and play with this one, I’ve always had the old style that had to have a line from the brake master cylinder to the controller. My only issue was where I installed it bumps my knee occasionally.
Fast service. Relatively easy to install (once you decide where to mount it). I haven't used it on my trailer yet, but I anticipate that it will work fine. I used the Plug in harness even tho' my Toyota Tacoma came with one, because I would rather not cut the wires from the controller and splice the wires from the harness.
THIS PENDULUM BRAKE CONTROLLER WAS NOT SENSITIVE/AGGRESSIVE ENOUGH FOR QUICK HEAVY BRAKING. I REINSTALLED MY ORIGINAL TIME/VOLTAGE CONTROLLER. I SHOULD HAVE RETURNED THIS HOPKINS CONTROLLER TO YOU FOR REFUND, BUT HAVE NOT.
etrailer.com made my product selection easy. They even showed the recommended wiring adapter without me having to search for it separately. This brake controller was easy to install and setup. This, in addition to a good price, made my purchase and installation easy. I would definitely choose them again for my camper and towing needs.
Technically it is excellent- braked s appropriately and proportionally. However, placement was problematic- I think that in-dash models are the way to go, although installation is more complicated.
Already own one of these for another vehicle. Just installed this one tonight on a Tundra and works great. Easy install and setup. etrailer had it delivered in the estimated timeframe and no issues as usual.
received very quick! i have not installed the controller yet but i'm sure i'll be very pleased as a good friend of mine has one and loves it. i've used his truck and my trailer to haul my skid loader and the hopkins worked perfect.

its been a year since installing my hopkins brake controller and it works perfectly. i tow my bobcat on a 18 dove tail trailer and i cant believe how well it makes my truck and trailer slow down and stop. i highly recommend for a easy install and adjustability at a very good price
This is a great product, and works perfectly for me. It is very easy to install; literally plug-and-play. I’m very satisfied w/ this unit.
I had issue finding the factory installed brake control connecting cable on new 2016 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum. Had to take vehicle back to dealership and it took them 2 hours to locate and unwrap the connecting cable.
I installed Hopkins Agility controller under dash above gas pedal (best location). Tight spot; used socket in hand to snug the 2 screws on right side of bracket. I remove the unit and secure the wiring under the dash (leaving installed bracket) when not towing.
I was able to install the brake controller in less than five minutes once I located the plug underneath my dash. Etrailer had a video that even showed where to look on my vehicle. This unit is very easy to adjust and it is flawless so far. I had already purchased a controller in a local retailer's store but they didn't carry the adapter I needed in order to install the unit. Etrailer.com had both units in stock and $20.00 less than my local store. I chose this unit because of the plug and play features and I know that if I want to change vehicles, I just need to purchase the corresponding adapter and I can easily transfer my Agility controller into my new vehicle. The shipping was fast and low cost. Etrailer.com was my last stop during this project but they will be my first stop for my next trailer project!!
Excellent. I hooked this Hopkins controller up with the specified harness and after plugging it into the Factory OEM plus on my Honda Ridgline, all I had to do was add a 20amp fuse as they don't put it in the Ridgeline from the factory, but the manual does list that. Worked like a champ!
This proportional controller allows my Ridgeline with the trailer to feel as if there is nothing on the truck when I'm breaking. Seems as if there is no trailer connected as compared to when I have pulled with electronic braking where you never seem to get the settings just right.
Easy install with vehicle specific cable. Probably took me 30 minutes taking my time. Took the trailer for a short ride and everything seems to function perfectly. Haven't taken an extended trip yet. Easy if you check out the etrailer install video first.
Works great, was easy to install. If you purchase this make sure you get the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter also. etrailer.com is the best, worry free, one stop shop site for all your trailer needs.
Control mounted easily and the connector linked up with the connector under the dash perfectly and it works great!

It has been a year since I installed the control. It has worked flawlessly and I remain very pleased with its performance.
Great product and service. I just hooked it up and everything works like it should, great product and service, received it sooner than expected, trailer brakes work great on my new trailer.
This product was very easy to install and it works fantastic on my 2014 Dodge Ram. I use it to pull a 20' trailer and a tractor.This product is priced right and does what it is designed to do.I would recommend it to anyone that tows or hauls for braking assurance.Thank you etrailer.
I purchased the brake controller and related wiring for a 2004 Ford Superduty. The part fit well and works great. I'm very pleased with the product and how well everything fit.
Bought the wiring connector sold separately for my truck and this brake controller was very easy to install. It works flawlessly.
Good brake controller. Only problem I have had with it is the manual button will not fully release some of the time. Other than that is is a good controller.
THIS BRAKE CONTROLLER WAS EASY TO INSTALL AND WORKED VERY WELL. GET THE ADAPTER CORD TO FIT YOUR TRUCK AND YOU WILL BE A HAPPY GUY.
Product works as it should. It was easily installed in a 1999 f 450 ford with the available wiring harness. just plug it in and attach the mount under the dash. My order and delivery were processed in a timely manner.
Very easy to install. Works great. Just what I needed to control brakes on 16 foot cargo trailer. I bought this to install in 2016 Ford F150. part number HM47845.
