I bought this for my 2017 Ford Ranger that I put a hitch on. I brought this to the Philippines were I retired after my stint in the U.S. Army. This item just fit perfectly on this hitch. I would have preferred a class 4 hitch, however there 2-1/2 hitch their class 4. Anyway, I installed this trailer connection housing and looked great kept my hitch clean and the trailer wiring clean as well. You can see the picture I provided. Can see I on the bottom left of the picture. I am the only that has this here and they don't sell it here.

I attached this to the hitch I bought from etrailer.com. My hitch is up tight under the bumper fascia and I installed this item on the square cross bar on the driver side. This arrangement makes both the hitch and the RV receptacle out of sight when looking at the rear of my Town & Country mini-van.

It is plastic, much rather it be metal but for the price it is what it is and the plastic is thick enough that it should stand up to some abuse. It fit the hitch bar fine and does provide a slight friction fit to keep it on the bar. The clamp leaves a lot to be desired though. You would be much better off just getting a stainless steel hose clamp and replacing the one it comes with or a sturdy cable tie. The socket fit in fine though the screws provided were not the best and I ended up using some stainless panhead screws.

I purchased this to restore the 7-way recreational trailer connector. The previous owner had cut off the factory connector box and connector. This box mounts directly to the hitch's support tube and is slightly angled outwards to provide suburb clearance. Works great!

I recently installed the 4-pole to 7-pole adapter on my 2015 Highlander. My first install worked OK, but I ran into a ground clearance issue using the original mounting location. Etrailer suggested using a 2 1/2" mounting box to relocated the connector. Part number 18156 worked perfectly.

Quick and easy installation on a 2023 Nissan Frontier. Videos were very helpful. Plug front mounting plate (to wide) did not lineup at all for horizontal attachment to the etrailer 6-7 way 2.5" trailer connection mounting box (sold separately). Had to tap new holes and mount plug vertically (as is picture).

Works perfect, looks like genuine Mercedes trailer hitch connector, probably the same. Don't try to disconnect the connector when trying to install, very difficult, there are two notches already built into the back of this housing, snip that open, and the cable slides right through. So simple!

by:

A little flimsy and collapsed a little in the middle. but it definitely let me quickly and securely mount my trailer electrical hookup to my 2.5" hitch mount. I wish the screws were hex or torx instead of Philips, and the hose clamp was a little weird to figure out with no instructions (the clamping end isn't a normal hose clamp) but i got it on.

Bought this and did not use on vehicle. I do have on on another vehicle and it works great. I have already submitted pictures of that installation to etrailer

It is still in my basement. Did not need to use it.

This item work well. Seems plenty sturdy. The mounting holes for the socket are intended for self-tapping screws (mine came with only 3); there is no access inside for using thru bolts as I planned. Since I had drilled for thru bolts, I had to use drastically oversized self-tapping screws instead. It work fine. I wish I had known ahead that it could not be mounted with thru bolts.

Used this bracket to replace one that mounted below the crossbar of the hitch, which made it too low. This will allow the plug in to be as high as the crossbar and won't drag in driveways, entrances, etc. Works great, mounts easy.

Make sure to measure ur hitch but this thing worked perfect on my 96 Cherokee with factory plug also etrailer has good shipping on small items too

This product was recomended as an additional part for a Honda Pilot wiring kit but it was not useful at all. It did not even fit in the space behind the plug because the spare tire is in the way. This should be taken off the recommended accessory list for the trailer wiring kit.

This product is meant to be attached on the front side of aftermarket hitches. It should not be used on the back of the hitch. If it is an OEM hitch, there may not even be a way to properly attach it since many OEM hitches are integrated as the bumper structure.

This is a great mounting unit for the 7-pin trailer connector! The side-angle mount keeps your plug under the bumper and is tucked away so nothing hits it, potentially disconnecting trailer electric from the tow vehicle. I like it so much I now have 2 of them!

This is a very good replacement option for a seven way connector on a low hanging trailer hitch. Installed on a Lexus rx300 that had the seven way torn off because of the low mounting. This brought the connector up even with the hitch, works well and easily installed.

This trailer connecting box mount fits well and holds securely My socket cover now sits under the bumper out of the elements. The previous mount I had held the connector at an angle, water built up and rusted the bottom 2 connectors. This one sits nice and level.

I ordered about 5 products from you last week, mid week, and they were on my doorstep in perfect condition by Saturday! Nothing on backorder, and packed well into 2 boxes. Also, i appreciate the status emails and follow up. Thanks Etrailer, Great job!

Good kit for the price. The only problem I had was finding vehicle specific directions for the Honda Ridgeline as the ones included were for the Pilot.

The Mounting Box was as expected and works fine.
The shipping was reasonable and arrived quickly.
I am very pleased with this purchase.

by:

Worked great for clean, factory look on our 2016 Kia Sorento.

by:

This mounting box was a bit more 'plastic-y' than I was expecting. And the hose-clamp was initially difficult to tighten up... but once I got it installed and tightened down, it was more sturdy than I was initially expecting. For the price, it seems like a good value.

Great product. Fit as if were factory.Very pleased with the easy installation.Highly recommended.

by:

Will make my trailer connection look much better than a flat bracket. Neatness & looks are impotant to me.

by:
