We recently purchased our first PUP trailer (a 1997 Jayco) and I realized immediately that I had a problem: the trailer came with a 7-pin connector and our Nissan Pathfinder had a 4-pin connector. I stopped at an auto parts store on the way home hoping to find an adapter, but no dice. I pulled it home that night with no lights and checked etrailer.com the next day, and found they had exactly what I was looking for. It was a simple purchase, a great price, and I was surprised to find that even with the least expensive shipping option they still provided me with shipping updates and package tracking. It came quickly via UPS, was the ideal length, and worked perfectly. Probably my favorite thing about buying from e-trailer was that they actually took the time to explain ALL the shipping information, including who they use, which most online retailers do not. It makes a difference when you live in a rural area with no local mail delivery, and USPS delivers to your P.O. Box while other shipping providers will bring it to your door. Thanks for keeping it simple and delivering a perfect product at a great price.9997

This plug works very well. The connection from my truck to my trailer is very snug. Would send a pic if I had one, but I dont. :-) Good product, good company. Only complaint I have, is that I paid for the 2 day shipping, but it took 3. Not so bad, but thats what I paid the extra money for.19534

  • 4-Way Flat to 6-Way Square RV Wiring Adapter for Jayco Trailers
  • As long as you have a Jayco trailer, the Adapter 4 Way Flat to 6 Way Square for Jayco, item # 30104, is the only part that you will need to power the brake lights, turn signals and running lights on your trailer. You will not have trailer brake or 12 volt accessory power with this adapter.

  • 4-Way Flat to 6-Way Square Adapter for a Coleman Camper
  • No, the adapter you selected is for the Jayco camper only. The Coleman camper is going to have a different wiring pattern and unfortunately will not work with the Jayco adapter. Does your camper have a battery for the accessories? If so then your 4 way will not charge the battery when in tow so you may want to consider wiring the vehicle to the correct plug or rewiring both with new connectors. I have posted links below to the items you may want to consider if your 4 pole connector is factory.

  • Wiring a 6-way Jayco Connector on a 2004 Hyundia Santa Fe
  • The Adapter 4-Way Flat to 6-Way Square for Jayco, item # 30104, will work with your Jayco trailer but you will not have power for your auxillary connection or your trailer brakes. One option for you to have power to all of your trailers electrical functions is to use the 6-Pole Square Trailer Wiring Connector Kit (Car and Trailer Ends), item # 37995, and splice into your vehicles 4-way wiring for the taillights and hard wire the two remaining circuits. If you have two vehicles that you want

  • Wiring A 2008 Toyota Highlander for Towing a 1996 Flagstaff Cobra Camper with 6-Way Square Connector
  • Jayco uses a different wiring code than most, so in all likelihood, it will not work. I would just cut off the 6-Way square, tape off the brake and battery wires, and connect the 4 wires to a new 4-Way flat connector like part # 9653P. A better solution may be to install a more common 6-Way Round trailer connector on the vehicle and trailer. You could use the Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Connector, item # PK11604, on the trailer end and a 4 Pole to 6 Pole Adapter, item # 30637. Th

  • Using the Adapter 4 Way Flat to 6 Way Square for Jayco Trailers, part # 30104, will provide lighting functions only. You will have turn signals, brake lights, and running lights. To gain connections for the other features like the reverse lights, battery charge, etc, your best bet would be to remove the connector on the trailer and install a 7-way connector. For the trailer, I would recommend the 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, part # H20042. When wiring this harness to the trailer, pay

If your trailer is set up with brake/turn signals, and tail lights only then I would remove the factory square 6-way wiring connector and replace it with a 4-way flat connector, item # 18004. This connector will wire as follows the white wire should go to ground on the trailer frame, the brown wire attaches to the trailer tail light wire, the yellow wire attaches to the trailer left turn and brake wire

I know that Coleman offers an adapter for their trailers, but I believe that it is a proprietary item that must be sourced through them. They would also be the best source for a wiring diagram. I would first start by using a circuit tester like part # 40376 to verify that the 4 way flat connector has been installed correctly

If you only need the lighting circuits functional on your trailer, you can simply remove the existing 6-way and install a 4-way trailer end, part # 18004. If your camper has electric brakes, and you want them to actuate, you will need to install a brake controller as well as an upgraded trailer connector on

  • The reason you are not getting the lights to work is that this Adapter 4 Way Flat to 6 Way Square for Jayco, part # 30104, is because this adapter is wired to only work on Jayco trailers, and is not wired to work on your Coleman Pop up. Although we can not sell you an adapter that would work on your Coleman trailer because of propriety issues with Coleman, there is a way you could get your trailer lights to function properly.
