Great winch. I was a little nervous about buying this because of the new design but it is a very good product. Heavy cast aluminum housing. After destroying several winches with my boat (including electric winches) I tried this one and couldn't be more pleased. It will load up my 24' Grady White (about 5,000 lbs.) with ease. The gear ratio is listed wrong on the ad. It is about 5:1 in high and 16:1 in low. And it will free spool without spinning the handle. Great product and its made in the USA!20949

Receiving my winch in about 3 days after ordering it, it was installed in about 2 hours, easy to read instructions was a plus, I was able to crank my 22 ft. Pathfinder up the trailer the last 6 inches even with dry bunks, which I could not do with my existing winch, so far I am impressed.79191

Have unboxed and partially installed the winch. It is very sturdy, well worth the money. I had to call Fulton with a question and they were extremely helpful. In fact, they provided assistance when the problem was my fault, not theirs. Shipping from Etrailer was great. All in all it's been a perfect experience.74173

This is a very well made and solid winch. I replaced a much lesser, cheap winch that came with my boat trailer. These winches should be a standard item when purchasing a fairly high end trailer (Load Rite). Installation was a breeze and all aspects of winching, in and out, low and high ratio, freewheeling without the handle spinning to collect an errant hand are superb features. I generally used powered winches in the past but this winch does the job effortlessly and in less time than connecting and fiddling with the powered unit. Looks good too!57732

I am very pleased to own this Fulton F2, 2-speed boat trailer winch. It was very easy to mount on my trailer and it works great. It handles my 19" foot boat with ease. The price was far less than I expected to pay for a winch of this quallty.53356

I bought this winch because the factory installed winch was ugly and started to bend a little. This winch is rated at twice the pulling power, feels much heavier and is much better looking.53273

Although I have not yet used the winch as of yet, just installed it yesterday, I like the look and construction of the product. The two speed option will be of use on the steeper ramps when pulling the boat up the last few feet to the bow stop when you really start to feel the weight of the boat. I had to move the mounting position of the unit due to the size of the winch body. I drilled two new holes to be able to mount it without interference. There was enough adjustment in the third hole so that I did not need to relocate. It matches nicely with the Fulton F2 tongue jack. E-trailer service and delivery were great. Great communication and shipped product quickly. I will definitely consider E trailer for my next trailer parts purchase. 47375

e-trailer got this to me in one day! Thank you! Excellent winch. I replaced an original Fulton winch on my 8 year old MC boat trailer. It was rated at 1300 lbs. and was adequate. When the pawl for the small gear broke, leaving it useless, it was time for new. I thought this 2 speed F2 would be overkill for my application, but I'm very glad I made this choice. I didn't realize how hard I was working with that old winch. This winch makes it almost effortless. It works smoothly, has a nice clean look, and has no traditional pawl to break. Of course we'll have to see how it holds up once THIS one is 8 years old. :) Note: The rating of 3200 lbs. is a bit misleading. The side of the housing is marked saying it's rated at 3200 lbs. first layer, and 1600 lbs. with a full drum. I guess that means the more you strap wind in, the less pulling it can handle. 44981

And with wooden bunks and long winching distances, reduce the ratio to 1 to 1. For example, a 2,200-lb boat generally requires a 1,100-lb winch. If the same boat were winched a short distance with a low incline and with rollers in good condition, it can be safely winched with a 900-lb winch. • Getting the Correct Capacity Trailer Hand Winch for a 3,500 Pound Boat
  • Finding the right capacity winch for a boat and boat trailer depends on a few factors. Boat-size-to-winch capacity is generally 2 to 1, but if you have a trailer with good rollers and short winch distances that ratio can increase to 3 to 1. The opposite is also true. If you have wooden bunks and long winching distances the ratio is 1 to 1. Also, the capacity of a winch goes down 10 percent for every additional layer of strap or cable on the drum which is why winching distance is important.
