Today we're going to review part number FT20250301. This is the Fulton high performance two-speed trailer winch with a 2000 lb weight capacity. This corrosion resistant winch has two speeds, one for a quick pull-in the other for greater mechanical advantage and there's also a neutral freewheeling position for fast line payout. This winch is great for marine applications. It's ideal for boat trailers. The 2 speeds will fit your application.
There's a fast speed that will let you pull-in quickly and then the lower speed offers an increased mechanical advantage. It does have a shift lock design which lets you pull this and you can shift that into a gear without having to remove the handle. You just slide the shaft back and forth into low or high gear and then this shift lock will hold the shaft in place. There is a neutral freewheel position for a quick line payout without the handle spinning. This does have a Z-Max 600 zinc finish which provides superior corrosion resistance.
That basically means it has a salt spray rating of 600 hours. I do want to give you a few measurements on this. The handle length on this would be 10 inches. Now, the gear ratios on this would be for the high gear it would be 4.1:1 and for the low gear it would be 9.8:1. So, basically what that is telling you is right now we have it in the high gear so that means when you go to crank--when you crank this that will mean to get this drum to rotate one revolution you would crank this 4.1 revolutions on the handle.
And then if you shift this--if we pull off the lock and pull this and shift it, you'll see there are indentations on the shaft that you just push the lock down now that it is in the low gear. That will give you a 9.8:1 gear ratio basically to move this drum one revolution would take 9.8 cranks or revolutions of the handle. This does have a maximum mechanical advantage of 64:1. Now, this is designed for wire cable only. The drum storage--the maximum storage would be 50 ft by 7/32 of cable.
The hub size, the diameter of this hub is 1-3/4 inches. This does have a weight capacity of 2000 lbs and it does come with a limited 5 year warranty. And basically, showed you the shifting pretty much as if you just--it says right here there's a lever and on it says shift lock. You just pull this and you can move the shaft to whatever gear. This gear will engage you to the lower gear or the higher gear and it locks it into place. And then this ratchet pole right here, basically right now if you move it into the middle it will let it freewheel as you can see here. If you pull it up--up position it will let you crank clockwise which let the cable out. If you push it all the way down it'll go counter-clockwise and that would bring the cable back into the drum. And that should do it for a review on part number FT20250301.

Today was the first time I used my new, beefy, 2-speed winch. I love it -- it worked as advertised! I was able to pull my boat onto its trailer with no assistance whatsoever. What a pleasant change. Also, the service from etrailer (e.g. answering my technical questions) was excellent. 59455

Received winch in acceptable time frame. Winch came with no instructions and the cable retainer was not included with the winch (it is with the Fulton website). Sent emial yesterday asking for help, have not received a reply.48518
