Today we're going to review part number FT1801Z0301. This is the Fulton single speed winch with an 1800 lb weight capacity. This single speed winch has a convenient two-way ratchet system. It is built with a carbon steel construction which offers superior strength and durability for better function and increased life span. It has an oil impregnated shaft bushing and a full length drum bearing which will make for a smooth and efficient operation. This does have a Z-Max 600 finish which will provide increased corrosion resistance.

It does have a comfort grip handle which makes cranking very easy. Now, this winch is designed to be used with either rope or a strap. It is not designed to be used with wire cable. Now, included with this winch is the strap. It is the strap anchor and the bolt-nut to attach the strap to the drum.

Now, the length on this handle is 10 inches. This winch does have a gear ratio of 5.1:1 and basically what that means is for this drum to rotate one complete revolution you would need to crank the handle 5.1 revolutions. Now, the drum--the maximum drum storage on this if you use a rope would be 20 ft by 7/16 diameter. If use the strap it would be 20 ft by 2 inch wide strap. Again, this strap is included so it's a 2 inch wide strap and the drum is 2 inches wide.

So this has a weight capacity of 1800 lbs. It does come with a limited 3 year warranty. And basically, I want to show you first is to attach the strap to the drum. Since it does come with the strap anchor what you need to do will be to insert that into the wheel or the strap loop and then basically what you would do is find where the hole is for the bolt to go through. Lay that strap down over the drum, the shaft part.

You run the bolt through and that goes over the strap and that strap anchor is right on the end here. So basically if you pull on that when you tighten it down that's not going to go anywhere. So that will wrap around the drum. Now, if this one does come with the strap anchor; now if you're winch does not include a strap anchor then you can basically just run the bolt through the strap and attach it that way to your drum. But if it does include the anchor you do need to use that to attach it. Now, this strap on the other end does come with a hook with a keeper on it and also just to show you the ratcheting with this ratchet lever in the up position it will allow you to crank in the clockwise rotation. Now, if you move his ratchet lever down it allows you to crank in the opposite counter-clockwise rotation. It will not allow you to go the other way.
