I ordered a Fulton winch a couple of weeks ago, for a crank over crank up radio tower. I was so impressed with the ease of and the quality of the product that I ordered another one which I received today. I am a amateur radio operator and as typical among (hams) there were several helpers on this project who were also impressed. Your follow up on shipping, during shipment, and final delivery, was very impressive. Phillip Cox W5PWC26106

Replaced an old winch on my sailboat, this one is same model. No problems, thought a couple parts should have been lubed since some were, but not big deal. Good service from etrailer, shipped separate parts of order with no extra shipping fees. Let me know by email what the status was, so would order from them again.18785

I ordered this item to replace a worn-out one used to crank up my amateur radio tower. The winch replaced, also a Fulton K1550, was at least 15 years old and had seen lots of service and spent all its life exposed to Central Texas weather. The new winch was an exact replacement, no installation problems whatsoever. The product itself is typical Fulton quality, good plating, no burrs or sharp edges, and smooth action. The instructions included were easy to follow.14699

Expert Answers about Fulton High-Performance Brake Winch - Cable Only - 1,500 lbs - FK15500301 Do you have a question about this Winches?

  • Cable Layers on Hand Winch and Effect on Capacity
  • In a nutshell, the more layers of rope or cable wrapped around the drum, the lower the capacity goes. Each layer typically reduces the capacity from 13-25 percent. If your current winch with the 1200 lb capacity has been doing the job for you, a winch with the same or greater capacity should work fine for you. I will link you to our Winch FAQ page, you can find the link below. This page addresses electric winches, but the information regarding the drum capacities would apply to hand winche

  • Winch Size Recommendation for a 2800 Pound Glastron Boat with Extra Gear and Fuel
  • I have two winches that I would recommend for your boat trailer. The only difference in the two is weight capacity and price so you will have to decide based on your particular needs which will work for the weight of your boat, fully loaded and ready to pull up on the trailer. First, we have the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish, Two Speed with Direct Drive - 3,200 lbs., item # DL15440. You would need to order the Hand Winch Strap with Safety Hook, 2 inch Wide x 25 foot Long - 4

  • Recommended Trailer Winch for a 2,500 Pound 1978 Wellcraft Boat
  • We have many winches that can be used for your 1978 Wellcraft Boat and boat trailer. I recommend a single speed winch like Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish, Single Speed, # DL15303. This winch would be great for marine applications because the TUFFPLATE finish has 3 times the corrosion resistance of zinc plated finishes. It has a capacity of 1,400 pounds which can handle a boat up to 2,800 pounds (boat-size-to-winch capacity is generally 2 to 1). You can use the Hand Winch Strap w

  • Fulton Brake Winch # FK15500301 Recommendation

  • Recommendation for a Trailer Brake Winch that Uses a Strap for Marine Applications
  • Yes, there are brake winches that use straps. Take a look at the Dutton-Lainson Brake Winch, # DL15721. This winch uses a strap, # DL24260, and has a 2,500 pound capacity. Besides the capacity, one key difference is that with this winch, there must be a load on it to pull the line out from the winch drum. It would be a good choice for your application. The TUFFPLATE finish provides 3 times the corrosion resistance of standard zinc plating. Another option is the 1,200 pound capacity Dutto

  • How to Let the Cable Line Out on Fulton High-Performance Brake Winch # fk15500301
  • I spoke with my contact at Fulton about the Brake Winch, # fk15500301. He said that in order to pay the line out you will have to apply enough force to the handle in the counter clockwise rotation to brake it free. After that you will need to turn the handle to continue paying the line out.

  • Recommended Winch to Raise Telescoping Antenna Tower
  • Although the Fulton # FK15500301 winch you mentioned would work well for you, it has a bit more capacity than you actually need. The Fulton # FK10510301 would be a better choice. The capacity of a winch diminishes as more cable is spooled onto it. The winch has a 1000 lb capacity with one layer of cable on the spool, and the capacity is reduced to 500 lbs once the entire 50 feet of cable is wrapped around the drum. The 500 lb minimum capacity is plenty for the 300 lb weight you mentioned.
