Today we're going to take a quick look at the Dutton Lainson Hand Winch in the tough plate finish, part number DL15002. Now this winch is built in the USA and Dutton Lainson covers it with a 5 year limited warranty. It's finished in their zinc tough plate finish, which offers better corrosion protection than the traditional zinc plating. The handle is included and simply attaches to the winch with this nylon lock nut here. Now the winch has a maximum capacity of 40 feet of 3/16 inch cable or 16 foot nylon strap. Theres series of bolt holes down on the bottom of the winch mount so you can secure it to your trailer.
The winch has a lockout on it so as you crank the winch can't go in reverse until you flip this release switch here and the winch can then freespool either way. It has a 900 pound capacity for horizontal pulling and the drum diameter here measures 5/8 of an inch.
