Worm Gear - 1,500 lb

Applications requiring safe, controlled movement of loads need the D-L worm gear winch. The reel automatically stops turning whenever cranking is stopped. There is no free wheel mode, no special mechanism required to stop gear movement and they do not require a minimum load for operation.

  • Capacity is based on direct line pull on the first layer of line on the drum. Capacity is reduced as line builds up on the drum
  • Laminated high carbon steel gears are heat treated for longer life
• Heavy gauge embossed steel base for extra strength
• Permanently lubricated bearings on drive shaft are maintenance free
• Heavy duty variable speed drill 1/2" shaft, using 5/8" socket, may speed up operation

• What Cable Diameter Is Needed For a 50 ft Cable on the Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch # DL11011
  
• I spoke with my contact at Dutton-Lainson and she said the recommended cable for this winch is 1/4 inch x 43 ft cable, but you could use a 7/32 inch x 50 ft cable, # DL24045, with the Worm Gear Hand Winch, # DL11011, without sacrificing the weight capacity of the winch. You will notice that the weight capacity on this cable is 2,500 lbs, but you will still be limited to the 1,500 lb weight capacity of the winch.

• To secure a cable on the Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Winch - 1,500 lbs, # DL11011, you will use a series of loops around the reel and gear. You will not need to use a cable fastener or cable keeper to do this. I have attached a diagram that shows how the cable should be fed through the reel and gear for you to check out.
