Install these beefy helper leaf springs above your GMC C/K Series Pickup's rear factory leaf springs. SuperSprings reduce sway and prevent sagging - great for towing or hauling heavy loads. Additional mount kit included for OEM springs that set above the axle.

These additional leaf springs add support and sway control to your existing OEM suspension. Just bolt on SuperSprings over your existing factory springs, and they automatically work when you need them. As the factory spring flexes, a roller at each end of the beefy helper spring reacts to engage the helper spring and to provide extra support. The springs help to better distribute cargo weight throughout your existing suspension, channeling that weight to the points on the frame that are designed to support heavy loads.

Placing these leaf springs above your factory springs helps to keep your OEM springs from twisting, so the SuperSprings act like a sway bar, reducing the body roll that makes driving more difficult and dangerous. With these helper springs, driving is safer and easier when it's windy, when your GMC C/K Series Pickup is rocked by a passing semitruck and when cornering. The springs help to reduce sway by up to 30 percent. SuperSprings also allow more wheel travel in the rear suspension when they are under load, so they maintain traction and ride comfort better than rubber or polyurethane bumpers. That means they're great for drivers who frequently tow.

You can also customize the level of support provided by SuperSprings. For most models, the shackles that attach the helper leaf springs to your existing leaf springs have several installation options:
SuperSprings are a maintenance-free, low-cost alternative to air spring systems, which require constant monitoring and air pressure adjustment. These helper leaf springs respond automatically to the load you carry, so there is no crawling under your truck to adjust them. You'll also reduce wear and tear on your suspension, brakes and tires, which saves you money. The bolt-on installation means that they are easy to fit - no drilling required.
This suspension stabilizer kit is perfect for trucks towing fifth wheels, campers and gooseneck trailers.

An additional mounting kit is included for installation with factory springs that set above the axle.
For GMC C/K Series Pickups with factory leaf springs that set above the axle, this mounting kit ensures that SuperSprings operate silently when the GMC C/K Series Pickup isn't loaded. When factory springs set below the axle, the axle itself serves as a fulcrum for the helper leaf springs. However, for GMC C/K Series Pickups that have OEM springs that set above the axle, the 2-inch brackets in the mounting kit act as fulcrum points on the underside of the SuperSprings. Furthermore, the shackles at the ends of the helper springs hold them in place and pivot as the load is transferred to the SuperSprings. Because there is minimal preload tension in the installed SuperSprings, you get a quieter ride.
Note: The additional mounting kit (MTKT - included) provides U-bolts with a leg length of 4 inches. If your application requires that you use the additional mounting kit and if your existing factory springs have had extra leaves added, longer U-bolts may be required to complete the SuperSprings installation. Also, some older Chevrolet 3/4-ton and 1-ton models (Chevy C/K 2500, Chevy C/K 3500, Chevy Silverado 2500, Chevy 3500, GMC Sierra) have thicker factory springs that may require longer U-bolts.
To determine if you need longer U-bolts, measure the thickness of your existing leaf spring where it sets directly above the axle. If this measurement is greater than 2-3/4 inches, you will need the longer 5-1/4 inch U-bolts (SS112219-4).

Today on this 2010 Ford F-150 we are going to install SuperSprings part number SSA5MTKT. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and get the vehicle lifted up and we have the suspension unloaded. Now we have the wheels taken off but we do not have to do that. It makes things a lot easier if you can. Alright, the first thing we need to do is go ahead and install the mount kit. You need the mounting kit for vehicles that have axles that are mounted below the spring. We will go ahead and put the mount kit over top of the spring. It just gives us a nice flat surface for the SuperSpring to ride on. We will just go ahead and center it over it. And we will our U-bolts into place. We will go ahead and install the plate that goes on the bottom of the U-bolt itself. And we will install a flat washer and nut. We will do the same thing for the U-bolt going towards the front. And now we will go ahead and snug down the U-bolts. Make sure our bracket stays in place over the spring. 0:57
Now this is our SuperSpring right here. To install it, we need to remove the bolts, one on each side, and the rollers. We are just going to take the SuperSpring and just lay it on top of the mounting kit. You will see our shackles will move around the spring itself. When you mount the spring up, you want to make sure you have about 1/4 inch to move it front to rear. And on the back you need about 1 inch of movement. So you can move the spring forward or backward as needed and also have plenty of clearance for everything else. Let us reinstall the rollers on the bottom. Now we are going to use the bottom holes here. For most applications that is fine. However, if you are going to do an additional lift, you may want to use the additional holes that are above it to attach the rollers. Then we will go to the front shackle and repeat the same process. We will go ahead and snug down the bolts now. Now we are not going to make them tight, just enough where they touch and we still have room for the rollers to move around. 1:54
Alright, now we have to attach our spring clamp to the SuperSpring itself and the bracket. And then we will go ahead and attach the bolt with the flat washer and the lock nut. Now when you position the clamp, make sure nothing gets in the way. The bump stop right here is pretty close to this bolt so you can move it up and down as needed to give you some room. It does not have to be centered with the spring. It does not have to be super tight, just enough to secure everything. We have our driver side done. Let us go over to the passenger side and repeat the same process. The last thing we need to do is go ahead and reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle. And we can see how the springs work under tension. And there you have it for part number SSA5MTKT.
