Features:
Specs:

When hauling heavy loads in the cargo area or by pulling a trailer, you will often see the rear of the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350 sag while the front end rises. In these cases, the rear axle is handling not only the weight of the cargo, but more of the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350's weight as well. Because less weight is on the front axle, the front tires are making less contact with the road. Overall Ford F-150, F-250, F-350 handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. The resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350's factory suspension to keep the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350 level and improve your driving performance.

The Timbren system has a Ford F-150, F-250, F-350-specific bracket that will be bolted onto each frame rail above the rear axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the spring sits one inch above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride you are used to.

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape provides increased resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350 level.

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's or passenger's side of the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when hauling off-center loads.

Because the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350 handles better with the springs, less turbulence will be passed along to the trailer helping to keep the trailer in line. Your driving comfort is further enhanced if the trailer does begin to sway (from a gust of wind or passing of a semi) because the movement from the trailer is not transferred to the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350. This also works to make the sway subside quicker.

Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened as the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.
Compared to the competition:
Timbren's suspension enhancement systems are much easier to install than air springs - no air hoses are needed to be run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments necessary. The rubber construction causes Timbren's springs to be more elastic than similar products constructed of micro-cellular urethane. More elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

Today on this 2002 F-250 Super Duty we are going to install part number TFR250SDE from Timbren. This is our Suspension Enhancement System. The first thing we did was remove the spare tire. Then we took off the tire on the side we are going to work on. You do not have to do that, we are doing it to make the instructions a little more clear. One thing you need to do is raise the frame off the suspension so you have plenty of room to work. :28
First, we will locate where our new spring is going to be installed. It is going to replace this bump stop right here. To get a better reference point, we are underneath the vehicle looking at the driver side frame rail. We are going to spray it down with some lubricant, then we will take a socket and just unbolt it. We removed the bump stop right here at the bolt, however, there is also a little spacer between the bracket and the frame right here. We need to remove that also. 1:00
Our next step is to install the base plate that will fit around the factory bump stop here. That is going to fit in the existing bump stop bracket, and you can see how this peg goes into here, that is why I had to remove the bushing to begin with. It will all fit together just like that. Then we will thread it down, into the bracket. You want to get it hand tight, until it is snug, you can give it a quarter turn after that. We are set there, now we can install our spring and our spacer. One thing I want to show you before I put the spring on is that there are two additional holes from the center hole that is threaded. If you have to, you can move the spring backward or forward as you need it to match your bump stop on your axle. 1:51
To determine that, your best bet is to put it loosely together, put the truck back down on the ground, and test how it fits together. Also, you will do the same thing with a spring if you use a spacer. This is the spring itself, it gets bolted to the bottom of course, there is also a spacer so you can add length to the spring itself. You are basic goal is that you have 1 inch of play between the bottom of the spring and your bump stop when your truck is unloaded. In this case, we have figured out that we are going to use a spacer and that we will have plenty of space. We are going to use a 2 inch bolt that came with the kit, put it on our socket, and run the bolt in. There is also a washer trapped inside the spring, so you want to get that in there also. And then our spacer. Then we will thread it together. 2:37
You want to get it hand tight until it stops, and maybe a 1/4 or 1/8 turn after. Lets go ahead and put our tire back on and check for clearance. Now you want to check between your bump stop and your spring and aim for about 1 inch of space. That will be your best way to go. There you have it for part number TFR250SDE from Timbren on this 2002 F-250 Super Duty.

The instructions that are included are very vague, the web site video is alot clearer on the instalation. The SES was however easy to assemble and install and only took about an hour from start to finish. After completing the install I hooked back to my camper and went from a 3-4 inch drop to .75 inch drop. This product works exactly as it is advertised to do. I can wait to get it on the raod now. 48610
