Features:
Specs:

The resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with the Chevrolet Suburban's factory suspension to keep the Chevrolet Suburban level, thereby improving your driving performance. When a truck bed is loaded, the rear of the Chevrolet Suburban will sag under the load, and the front will sag under the burden of heavy equipment such as a snow plow. In this case, the axle is handling not only the weight of the load, but more of the Chevrolet Suburban's weight as well. Because less weight is on the opposite axle, those tires are making significantly less contact with the road meaning there is less traction and therefore a decrease in overall control, handling and stopping.

The Timbren system has a Chevrolet Suburban-specific bracket that will be bolted onto each frame rail above the front axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket, hanging down so that the bottom of the spring is touches the axle. Because the spring is already making contact, it is working at once to cushion and support the Chevrolet Suburban's existing suspension.

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape provides increased resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping the Chevrolet Suburban level.

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's or passenger's side of the Chevrolet Suburban. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when hauling off-center loads.

Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System will raise the front of the end of the Chevrolet Suburban when heavy equipment, such as a plow, is attached. Headlight beams will be pointed in the right direction and tire wear will be reduced. If the plow is off center or has an extension, the hollow rubber springs will automatically compensate for this as well.

Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened as the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.
Compared to the competition:
Timbren's suspension enhancement systems are much easier to install than air springs - no air hoses are needed to be run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments necessary. The rubber construction causes Timbren's springs to be more elastic than similar products constructed of micro-cellular urethane. More elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

Today on our 2001 Ford Explorer well be installing the Timbering Suspension Enhancement System part number TGMFK10. First, well need to go ahead and raise the vehicle and remove the manufacturer bump stop. To do this well remove the nut off the top of the bump stop stud. First, well go ahead and spray down the fastener with some spray lubricant. This will assist us in removing it because over time its gonna build up rust, dust, dirt, and debris. Quick tech tip, it may be necessary to go ahead and put a block of wood in between the axel and the bump stop so that it holds it in position.
Youll notice theres a small nipple in the top of the bump stop that goes into the frame to stop it from spinning. Now well go ahead and put our block of wood in place and were ready to go ahead and start removing the fastener. Now, with the fastener removed well go ahead and remove the block of wood and our bump stop and here you can see the nipple that protrudes into the frame. Were ready to install the new Ion rubber spring. Before we put it in place lets go ahead and assemble it.
As the spring is already assembled well need to assemble the hardware and top plate. Weve got the new bolt thats provided with our install kit. Well go through the center of the ion spring, through the ion spring washer, and up through the top of the ion spring. After the bolt passes through the spring, well install the top plate provided with our install kit. Now were ready to go ahead and install it into the frame.
Once in the frame well install a flat washer and lock nut to secure it. Next, we can go ahead and tighten it down. Now with everything tightened down well go ahead and repeat the same process on the drivers side. And with both ion springs installed that will complete the installation of our Timbren Suspension Enhancement System part number TGMFK10 on our 2001 Ford Explorer.
