Video Transcript for Pilot Tube Step Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2011 Chevy Silverado, we'll be installing the Bully Bar Tube Steps part # NB-105. Before we begin installation, we'll go ahead and lay our parts out. We'll need to identify the front and rear or short and long brackets and then our center bracket. Because we're working with the 2006 and newer application, we'll be reusing the manufacturer's hardware. First we'll go ahead and remove the front cab corner body mount bolt and bushing. Now we're ready to install the front bracket.

Once again, this is our short bracket and the bolt will go through the bracket then through the bushing then reinstalled into the truck. Each fastener will be installed hand tight at this point. Next we'll remove the rear mounting bracket or rear cab mounting point. Again we'll remove the bolt. This will come with a large round spacer and bushing.

We'll take the bolts off, go through the rear bracket then go through the round spacer and bushing and reinstall it back into the truck. Next we'll move to the center attachment point or center mounting bracket. We'll remove the bolt and bushing. Our bolt will go through the bracket then we're going to add two ring spacers with the bushing on top and reinstall the bolt. Next, I need to identify which tube step is for the driver or passenger side.

The easiest way to do this is to go ahead and lining your tube step up with the front and rear brackets and then make sure that the center attachment point for the tube step lines up with the center bracket. If it does not, this is most likely for the passenger side as the holes are offset for driver to passenger side. Now we're ready to go ahead and attach our tube step. Using the 1/2 inch hardware provided, we'll take the two-inch bolt, 1/2 inch lock washer and 1/2 inch flat washer and go through the bracket into the threaded end of our tube step. Once again, our hardware will be hand tight at this time.

Next, we will move to the rear bracket and repeat the same process. To attach our center bracket we'll be using a 3/8 bolt, lock washer and flat washer, going through the bracket into the weld nut in the tube step. Now with all the hardware installed, we're ready to go ahead and tighten and thwart specifications as indicated in the instructions. Next we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on the passenger side. And with both sides done, that will now complete our installation of the Bully Bar tube steps part # NB-105 on our 2011 Chevy Silverado.
