Today, on our 2011 Dodge Ram 1500, we are going to install part number VG-10-100. This is a Stromberg-Carlson fifth wheel tailgate. To start of our install, we need to go ahead and remove the existing tailgate. The tailgate comes with bushings we will install on the tailgate on the driver side on that pin and then on the passenger side, the bushing will install over here. We will go ahead and start installing our tailgate, we will slide it onto the bushing on the driver side. Keeping the tailgate tilted, we will go ahead and install it on the passenger side.

Then, we can go ahead and push it up into place and do a test. Now, the latches were preinstalled so all we have to do is adjust them to make sure they work right. With that, it will finish it for part number VG-10-100 on our 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. .

Very good product, excellant service and shipping. Product fit as advertised. If you use the rubber bumpers to help tigten the latches, have some glue handy to hold them in place. the tailgate video was very helpful.56399

Fifth Wheel Tailgate for a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Dually
I spoke with my contact at Stromberg Carlson and she stated that the only 5th wheel tailgates they have for the 2010 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 are the 4000 series, # VGD-10-4000, and the 100 series, # VGD-10-100, that you have referenced. I have included a link to the tailgate options for your truck.

Does Stromberg/ Carlson Fifth Wheel Tailgate # VGD-10-100 Open Like OEM Tailgate
The Stromberg/ Carlson Fifth Wheel Tailgate you referenced # VGD-10-100 does not have a handle, and therefore would not open and close like an OEM tailgate. To open the tailgate, the large cotter pins are removed which allows the tailgate to swing open. The tailgate uses the OEM cables from your original tailgate to hold it open.
