Simple and Secure Loading

Keep your trailer hitch free for towing by carrying your motorcycle in the bed of your truck. Loading your bike into your pickup has never been easier. Just attach the ramp extensions to the main ramp and clamp your bike's front tire into the cradle at the ramp's base. Then, using the remote control, raise the cradle slowly. The rear tire of your motorcycle will track along the ramp as it's pulled up. Once the cradle begins to pull your bike into the truck bed, the entire ramp will pivot for a controlled transition. (The pivot tube required for this action is sold separately. Measure the width of your truck bed to determine which tube will best fit your application.)

When the motorcycle's front tire reaches the front of your truck bed, it is in position and ready to be secured. After tying down your bike, remove the ramp extensions and stow them in your truck bed.

  • Can Tailgate be Installed on Truck Bed When Using Blue Ox SportLoader Motorcycle Carrier # SC3001
  • On the Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier, part # SC3001, the tailgate cannot be reinstalled unless the SportLoader carrier is removed from the box of your pickup truck. The carrier attaches to a pivot tube that is installed on the factory tailgate mounts on the truck. To install the tailgate would require the carrier to be removed from the truck bed. Another option for hauling a motorcycle on your truck would be a hitch motorcycle carrier that will install into...

  • Can Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier, # SC3001, Hold a Honda Goldwing GL1800
  • I spoke with my contact at Blue Ox and the OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier, # SC3001, has a 1,000 pound capacity. I know that the estimated wet weight of some Goldwings is around 900 pounds and depending on how it is equipped it could be heavier or lighter. I have linked the installation instructions for you.

  • Will 2011 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Fit Blue Ox OverBilt Motorcycle Carrier # SC3001 on F-150
  • My contact at Blue Ox advised that the OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier, part # SC3001, can be used on a truck bed that is at least 61-1/2 inches long (with the tailgate removed). Your 5-1/2 foot bed is 66 inches long, so it should fit according to Blue Ox. For your reference I have included a link to the installation instructions for the OverBilt. As you noted, part of the carrier and your Ultra Classic will overhang the truck bed. Blue Ox advised me that they know...

  • Motorcycle Carrier for a Yamaha XVS 1100 and a Ford F-350 Dually
  • Your Yamaha XVS 1100 weighs in the neighborhood of 600 to 700 pounds. The carriers that can hold this much weight are made for Class A motor homes but not passenger vehicles like your Ford F-350. You have a couple of options though that might work for you. First there is a dolly type of hitch mount rack # RHMC1SV. This rack holds the front wheel and has a jack and swivel feature to make loading and traveling easy. Chain driven bikes will need to have the chains removed. Belt drive and...

  • Availability of a Motorcycle Carrier that Can Carry a Trike
  • The Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier # SC3001 that you referenced is not designed to work with trikes. The reason is because the ramp is not wide enough to fit the wide rear axle of a trike. We do have caddies that will allow you to transport your trike behind a tow vehicle though. Check out the Trailer Hitch Mounted Motorcycle Carrier with Jack and Swivel # RHMC1SV. This product will work to transport trikes and could be a solution for you.

  • Will Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift # SC3001 Fit Blue Ox Hitch # SC9000
  • Blue Ox offers two versions of their OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier for Pickup Trucks, part # SC3001 for 6-foot beds and part # SC3000 for 8-foot beds. Nether of these carriers requires a trailer hitch for installation since they both mount in the bed. Both of these are powered carriers that require removal of your truck tailgate, which will be replaced with a pivot tube of the appropriate length, and these are sold separately. Blue Ox also offers three 3-receiver-hitch...

  • Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier for Short Bed Trucks
  • The Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader for short bed trucks is # SC3001. You will need the proper pivot tube. The pivot tube replaces the tailgate and must measure exactly the width of your truck bed. There are 21 options for regular pickup truck beds and 1 specifically for flatbed trucks. Measure the width of the bed at the tailgate opening and let me know what it is and I can recommend the right size pivot tube. If you have a 2006 Ford F-350 for example you should need the 62-3/4 long pivot...

  • Using Hitch Mounted Motorcycle Carrier for 400lb Motorcycle While Towing Trailer With 200lb TW
  • None of the motorcycle carriers we offer are designed to be used in conjunction with towing a trailer, so your best bet would be to carry the bike in the bed of the truck. Blue Ox offers a SportLoader truck bed motorcycle carrier that would allow you to lift your bike up into the truck bed with a flick of a switch. It's offered in a model for 8 foot truck beds, part # SC3000 or for 6-1/2 foot beds, use part # SC3001. A trailer that has a 200 lb tongue weight would almost certainly...

  • Motorcycle Lift Recommendation for Loading a 1996 Harley Softtail in a 2010 GMC Sierra Short Bed
  • The MaxxTow Hydraulic Pickup Truck Crane # MT70238 that you referenced would have the capacity to lift your 750 lb Harley Soft Tail into the bed of your 2010 GMC Sierra short bed, but it wouldn't be an ideal solution as it wouldn't swing far enough into your truck bed. Although much more expensive, a better solution would be the Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift # SC3001. This product was specifically designed to do exactly what you are trying to do in a short bed truck.

  • Can the Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier work on Lifted Trucks
  • Since your 2014 Ram 2500 has a 4 inch lift what Blue Ox recommends to go along with the Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier # SC3001 that you referenced is the Ramp Extension # SC9010. This product extends SportLoader ramp 40" for easier loading on lifted or oversize pickup trucks. The lift shouldn't interfere with your toolboxes either, but without knowing how wide they are it would be hard to say for certain. Most wheel well toolboxes do not extend over the wheel...

  • Can You Tow a Travel Trailer with the Blue Ox Motorcyle Lift In the Bed of a 2011 Ford F250
  • Yes, thats actually one of the great benefits that the Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift and Carrier # SC3001 has. It allows you to carry your Honda Goldwing in the bed of the truck and still allows you to tow a trailer. The # SC3001 should work very well for you in the bed of your 2011 Ford F-250 with a short bed. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out also. You may need some tie-downs to secure your Goldwing. If so, check out the Blue...

  • Dealer Installed Bedliner with Blue Ox SportLoader Motorcycle Lift on Ford F-150 Truck
  • I spoke with my contact at Blue Ox who said the dealer installed spray-in bed liner in your 2012 Ford F-150 will not affect OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Lift # SC3001 at all. I would also recommend the Retractable, Ratcheting Tie-Down w/ Cargo Buckle # SC9011, a simple-to-operate retractable strap and buckle, which quickly, easily and securely ties down your motorcycle to your Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader. I have linked the installation details for you.

  • Recommendations for Carrying a 490 lb Motorcycle with a 2004 GMC 2500HD
  • I wish I had something I could offer you, but none of the front mount hitches we offer would have enough capacity for the weight of your motorcycle plus the weight of a motorcycle carrier since your bike weighs 490 lbs. Also, we generally try to discourage carrying motorcycles on the front of a vehicle since it will block air flow for the radiator and would block the headlights of your vehicle. I would recommend you use the carrier on the hitch at the rear of your vehicle or carry your...

  • Will the Blue Ox OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Carrier # SC3001 Fit on a 2004 Ford Ranger
  • I spoke with my contact at Blue Ox and she told me that the overall width of the OverBilt SportLoader Motorcycle Carrier, # SC3001, is 36-1/2 inches, so this will fit between the wheel wells on your 2004 Ford Ranger. Another measurement that you will want to check is the length of your truck bed without the tailgate. Your truck bed must be at least 61 inches long without the tailgate to install this carrier. • Will Blue Ox Overbilt Motorcycle Carrier Work on a 2014 Dodge Ram Short Bed

Most likely that would not interfere with your trailer jack, but you might want to measure to be certain. I also asked about the length of your bed being 4 inches longer than 6 feet and he said you would just basically have an additional 4 inches in front of the carrier. The research I did shows that the 1983 Goldwing weighs in around 700 pounds from the dealer, and your accessories could push you over the tongue weight limit of your truck or the motorcycle carrier. At this time we do not have a carrier that is recommended for carrying a street bike weighing that amount in a trailer hitch. We do however have a in bed carrier...
