Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.
Stacked-plate heat exchangers have long been considered the most effective type of oil or transmission coolers, primarily because of their increased surface area. Allowing fluid to spread out over this larger surface area decreases the time required for heat transfer to take place. As a result, plate coolers typically manage to cool a greater volume of fluid faster than tube-and-fin, or even plate-and-fin, varieties. Add to that a powerful tornado fan that ensures optimum airflow at all times, no matter the environment, and you have a super-efficient heat exchange unit.

- I contacted our representative at Derale and he informed me that the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit With Fan, part # D13960, can be amounted anywhere. Since it uses a fan for cooling, it is not necessary to use the radiator for cooling as the fan is strong enough to provide cooling power.
It may be beneficial for more cooling efficiency if you can mount it in front of the radiator, behind the bumper, but it is not required. Transmission fluid cannot be cooled too much or ov
