This extra-wide trailer improves on the roof rack by taking it off of the roof and putting it on wheels, enhancing convenience and increasing your hauling capacity. The simple design of this sturdy steel trailer also makes it an economical option.

Specs:

Unlike hitch-mounted carriers and typical roof racks, this extra-wide, high-capacity "roof rack on wheels" isn't limited by how much cargo weight your roof or side rails can support or by the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch, so don't worry about overloading. With an effective payload of 600 pounds and the capability of supporting load bars up to 96 inches long, this trailer provides a solution for groups or families with lots of gear to haul. The high-speed axle, tubular steel construction and tough galvanized finish make for a durable, heavy-duty sport trailer.
The low loading height of this gear hauler helps you to avoid the strain of lifting your canoes, kayaks, bikes and other large and heavy equipment over your head to a roof rack, making it easy to transport all your stuff.

The towable roof rack meets just about any gear-hauling challenge you can find. Add carriers from your favorite companies, like SportRack, Thule and Yakima. You can even combine accessories to carry all your different types of equipment at one time - for example, bicycles and kayaks, kayaks and canoes, or bicycles and storage pods, to name just a few possibilities.
The trailer comes with two 80-inch-long load bars, and there is 77 inches of space between the two tie-downs on each load bar. Ninety-six-inch load bars are available (LB96; sold separately) to provide even more space. Or you can swap out the included load bars with your bars from Thule or Yakima, which require different U-bolts (SPTH01 for Thule and SPYA01 for Yakima; sold separately) for installation on the trailer.

The standard tongue can accommodate a boat up to 14 feet long. Tongue extenders (sold separately) come in 2-foot, 4-foot and 6-foot lengths, each allowing the trailer to carry 2 feet more of boat length. The 6-foot tongue extender will accommodate a 20-foot-long boat.

To reduce the amount of storage space needed, the U-bolts that attach the tongue can be loosened, allowing it to slide into the trailer's frame. A storage stand (VTS1; sold separately) holds the trailer vertically to decrease the storage space requirement even more. Stored dimensions with the stand are 6-2/3 feet wide x 3 feet deep x 8-1/2 feet tall.
