Really like dealing with e-trailer, but am rather disappointed with the Hangers I ordered. They were smashed so hard in the die press during manufacture, that I am concerned about stress cracks. I attached 2 pics, and you can see the steel was slammed so much that it literally pinched it over a sixteenth of an inch at the base of the ears. Sad thing is, I don't have alot of time, and am forced to use them. I hope they don't break. The hangers I got in a previous kit seemed fine. I wonder why these should be different.75657

  • How to Determine the Distance for Mounting Trailer Spring Hangers on a Single Axle Trailer
  • Spring Hanger location dimensions are normally figured by the manufacturer and provided with the spring hanger kit, that includes all of the parts for installing the springs on the trailer frame. I have provided a chart that shows the spring hanger locations for single axle trailers for you to review, see link. There are two considerations for mounting the spring hangers. First, the distance between the spring hangers as you have asked about. Second, the location of the axle when installed on

  • Will Using Longer Suspension Hangers Make a Trailer Ride Higher
  • The hanger length can affect the trailer height. You would need to change the height of all the hangers equally to keep the geometry of the trailer the same. But at the end of the day there are other ways to get more height on a trailer. Keep in mind that increasing trailer height changes the center of gravity on the trailer and can also change the tongue weight and lead to sway problems. If the springs on your trailer are currently mounted under the axle, you can use an over-under conversion ki

  • How to Gain Ground Clearance for a Travel Trailer that Hits the Driveway When Entering or Leaving
  • There are a couple different ways to raise the ride height of your trailer, but before we choose the best option for you, we will want to take a look at a few things. First, it sounds like you are not towing with your trailer level so you do not hit your ball mount on the driveway. A trailer that is not level can create many problems such as ground clearance and trailer sway. If you have any sway control issues with your trailer, then I would recommend moving your leaf springs above your axl

  • Can Shackle Straps Be Used at the Front and Back of a Leaf Spring
  • Usually, you do not put shackle straps on the the front and back. One end the the spring should be suspended from a hanger. The reason that shackle straps are needed is to compensate for the extra drop of something like an equalizer or shorter hanger and to allow the spring to have the proper range of motion it requires. To use shackle straps in both places you would have to have hangers of different height. I have included a link to our FAQ article on double-eye trailer suspension that cover
