Today, were going to review Part Number TLK01. This is a Custer Incandescent Trailer Tail Light Kit for your under 80-inch wide trailers. This part does include the two red stop, turn tail lights. It does have the red side markers on the side. Now, these are stud mounted which means they will mount on to the studs and actually ground to the studs, so theres no white ground wire.It does also come with the corrosion-resistant plastic license plate bracket which youll notice on the driver side light. There is a light underneath here.
If these are mounted on to the studs, as you can see, license plate would go right under there. It also comes with a 25-foot trailer wiring harness that you can wire your trailer with.It does have a separate white ground wire that would need to be grounded. The other harness is a four-foot long vehicle-end connector. If you do not have a four-way on your tow vehicle, you can connect this to it using the included Kwik-Connectors. It also comes with the nuts to ground when you ground it with the studs, it comes with the nuts used with the tail lights.
It also comes with the amber side markers, with the one power wire and these will also ground through the, when its mounted to the trailer through the stud.Now, the way I also wanted to show you is the way this would hook up, there are no wires coming out of it like in a lot of tail lights. They have actually holes on it and at the very top, it might be hard to see here, but it is stamped stop turn green; and tail, brown. This is your passenger side lights, so when you go to wire them, you would just strip your wire and it would just, the very top holes, youll just push the wire in. It would lock into place and give you the connection.If you do need to remove them, theres a small hole underneath that you could just use like a paperclip, push it in and the wire would come right out. This is the driver side.
Now, I do have it hooked up to power. I do want to give you an idea of how bright the light is. Right now, Im going to turn or just show you what it is, theres your tail light with the lights on. Now, were going to turn off the overhead lights to give you an idea. Theres your tail light, if I turn on the break that would be your break and your turn.
Thats how bright it would be.Now, well go ahead and turn the overhead lights back on and basically, just to show you, I do have the wires connector that I was explaining and Im just taking the white and grounding it to the stud to give you the, thats how youll ground it.
