Note: Landing gear is designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer's weight, not to support the full GVWR of your trailer. Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer or RV during tire changes or service work because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing legs.
Unlike some landing gear, Stromberg Carlson's was designed with safety in mind. The motor, manufactured by Lippert, won't trip circuits or cause problems with the coach's electrical systems. In addition, the IP-rated switch will not spark, so it can be mounted safely in the bottle-gas area.
Convenience is also a hallmark of this product. An inner drop leg on each jack makes leveling easy by allowing the jack feet to reach the ground quickly and at varying heights, saving time and thus reducing the draw on the trailer's battery. The cage pins that secure the drop legs can be replaced with spring-loaded pull pins (LG-119113; sold separately) that allow for single-handed operation. Large, rectangular, pivoting footpads are included, but you can use larger, 9-inch-diameter pads (LG-210475; sold separately) instead if you often camp on soft ground.
This system and its parts were designed to be compatible with most of the other fifth-wheel landing gear on the market, including Atwood and Lippert. If you're replacing your old landing gear, you can install this set from Stromberg Carlson using your existing mounting hardware.

- The jack with the motor is referred to as the lead jack, while the other jack is called the follower. Since the jack on the motor side is in need of replacement, you would need the lead jack. The lead jack is not terribly difficult to replace. You would need to disconnect the drive rod that connects the two legs, remove the lead jack, install the replacement lead jack, and pull the motor and gearbox off the defective jack and install on the replacement.

The mounting brackets weld directly to the frame of your fifth wheel, and the jacks would then mount into the brackets. - The shorter, fused wire on the switch should be pink and the longer wire should be the true red wire. To connect the switch for the # LG-1 Stromberg Carlson landing gear motor, you will connect the longer black and red wires from the switch to the matching wires on the motor. The pink fused wire will be run to the trailer battery for 12V power on the positive terminal, and the shorter black wire will be grounded to the negative battery terminal.
