Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Bulldog Square Jack with Drop Leg, part number BD182805. Now, Bulldog covers this jack with a limited five-year warranty. It's got a static capacity of 12,000 pounds and a lift capacity of 4000 pounds. It's a direct weld design, meaning your 4-inch square tube can be welded directly to the frame of your trailer. It can be paired up with another piece to have tandem gear on the front of your trailer. If you pair it together, this would be the right hand side.

Included with the jack is a foot plate welded to the bottom of the inner tube, which we'll need to purchase a sidewind crank separately. Now, we want to go over some measurements with these jacks so you can get an idea on how they'll fit your trailer. This front jack is fully retracted. We'll measure from the bottom of the foot plate to the top of the jack and we get about 27-1/2 inches. We have the same model here fully extended and we get about 40 inches.

Now, the drop leg feature offers an additional 13-1/2 inches of travel. It is spring reloaded, so when you pull this pin the foot plate inner tube will come back up. To get it to come down when you're lowering the gear, pull the pin and push the plate down towards the ground. The drop leg feature provides less travel as far as cranking in order to be at the gear all the way lowered as you can get span the gap with the drop leg.
