Completed installation of the Hidden Hitch 87570 for 2011 Ford Transit Connect. Installation for one person in the drive way was difficult, however a little innovation solved the problem. After the spare tire was lowered a 2x2 was cut to size to fit into the 2" hitch opening, after which it was cut to length of about 28". The small cable hub that is inserted through the spare tire rim was mounted onto the 2x2, then inserted into the hitch 2" opening of the hitch, and the spare tire cable was attached to the hub. The the hitch was raised (like raising a spare tire) using the lug wrench crank. Lifted evenly and was manageable to align the hitch to the frames welded nuts. The fit was very close and tight and does take some wiggling to get into place, but fit very nice. The best part of the hitch installation for me was the fact the muffler did not have to be removed for the hitch to be installed. The only problem with the hitch I received was all cosmetic. The paint or powder coating was in terrible shape. The paint had blisters and was flaking off. Even cut my fingers 3 different times removing it from the box on cracked flaked paint. The blisters were mush like pins or splinters going into my fingers. VERY POOR PAINT FINISH! I am sure those areas are gong to rust very quickly. PLEASE SEE PICTURES ATTACHED OF THE EXTENSIVE PAINT BLISTERING ON THE HIDDEN HITCH. 74967

I received my Hidden Hitch for my new 2012 Ford Transit Connect from etrailer in a timely fashion. I had it installed in about 30 minutes. It's much easier for one person by backing the vehicle onto standard car ramps for easy access. I used a rubber bungee cord to hold up one side while I started the bolts in the other side. Everything fit perfectly as advertised. It actually took longer to lower the spare tire then raise it back in position when finished than it did to attach the hitch. I have another Hidden Hitch product on another car so I knew the quality would be excellent. I am EXTREMELY PLEASED with etrailer and the service I received. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing a hitch or any of their other fine products. Thank You for providing such excellent service. Gene in Kentucky. (Pictures attached).53341
