Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario. Technical Support

Video Transcript for Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Toyota Tundra - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2013 Toyota Tundra well be installing the Drawtite Ultra frame hitch part #: 41935. This is what our hitch will look like once its installed. Next, well go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is two inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 18 and a quarter inches. This will assist you with selecting accessories such as a ball mount, a bike rack or a cargo carrier.

Now lets go ahead with the installation. First well need to remove the angle brackets that are located on the inside of the frame rail near the bumper on both sides. To remove the brackets there are a total of four fasteners for each. Well go ahead and remove them now. Two 12 millimeter fasteners and two 14 millimeter fasteners.

Now well go ahead and set the brackets aside as they will not be reinstalled, however we will be reusing the hardware. Our forward attachment points will be here. On the fourteen millimeter bracket well take the bolt and itll go through the hitch, through the frame and then get secured with a flat washer, split-lock washer and nut. The 12 millimeter bolt will get a conical tooth washer and then reinstalled into the weld nut. For our forward attachment points well be using the new 14 millimeter bolt along with a split lock washer and two blocks.

One block will get sandwiched between the hitch and the frame. Note, each process we do on one side will get repeated identically on the opposite side. Now with all of our fasteners installed well go ahead and tighten them down. Next well torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. Now, with our hitch secured and torqued to specifications thatll complete the install of the Drawtite Ultra frame hitch part #: 41935 on our 2013 Toyota Tundra..

Pros: I had no trouble raising the hitch by myself using a motorcycle jack placed under the receiver. After determining I did not speak French or Spanish, the English version of the installation instructions was helpful. By all appearances, (without x raying the welds,) the hitch looks bullet-proof. Considering the size and weight of this thing, I'm amazed at how quickly the item was shipped and received at my humble abode. Cons: The paint is a bit soft. There were several small areas where paint had been chipped off or worn off the hitch. The reason for some of the missing paint was obvious; the plastic wrapping and clear tape surrounding the hitch had been worn off in a few locations. In other locations, the wrapping was intact over the areas containing missing paint. 30404

Heavy Duty I decided to buy this hitch when my Curt Class III hitch bent as I was pulled out of a snowdrift. I have absolutely no doubts that this extremely heavy duty hitch will outlast the truck. I ordered this product on 12/21/10, it shipped on 12/21/10, and it was delivered on 12/23/10! gave me free expedited shipping and it was delivered exactly 50 hours after I ordered it! I will definately buy from again! 4516

I received the hitch just a couple of days after I placed my order with etrailer. These folks are REALLY good!!! Very helpful both with ordering the hitch and with follow-up questions. Would I recommend etrailer to my friends??.....Heck Yeah!!! 62927

  • Mounting a Winch Plate and Front Mount Trailer Hitch on a 2007 Toyota Tundra 2WD
  • I spoke with my contact at Curt and he stated that the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch, # 31198, will not sit flush with the bumper on your 2007 Toyota Tundra 2WD, but about 2-3 inches back. We offer the Curt Electric Winch Mount Plate, # C31010, that has three pin holes that will allow you to adjust the distance of the winch plate from the vehicle. The measurement from the furthest pin hole to the mounting plate is 8-1/4 inches. I have attached a picture showing these measurements. This...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2010 Toyota Tundra TRD SPORT
  • I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and he stated that hitch # 41935, fits all models of the 2010 Toyota Tundra, including the TRD Sport models, as long as it did not come with a factory trailer hitch. You could also use Curt trailer hitch # C15398. I have included links to the installation instructions for each for you. If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK2416. It comes with a ball mount, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag....

  • Comparing Draw-Tite and Curt Trailer Hitches for the 2013 Toyota Tundra
  • The Curt and Draw-Tite trailer hitches for yoru 2013 Toyota Tundra will be the same part numbers no matter which bumper type you have on your truck. Curt hitch # C15398 is actually a Class V hitch. There is no Draw-Tite Class V option but the Class IV is # 41935. The Curt hitch is rated much higher at 2,400 pounds tongue weight and 16,000 pounds gross trailer weight which likely exceeds the vehicle's capacities (conuslt owners manual for your trucks capacities). The Draw-Tite hitch...

  • Aftermarket Hitch for 2012 Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior TRD with Damaged Factory-Installed Hitch
  • We do offer a range of trailer hitch options for your 2012 Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior TRD. Since your factory-installed hitch has been damaged you'll naturally need to remove this entirely. After doing so I suggest you very carefully inspect the OEM hitch's attachment points on the frame rails to ensure no vehicle damage was sustained when the hitch was broken. I would also check that the threads in the frame's weld nuts (that accept the hitch installation bolts) were not damaged in...

  • Replacement Mounting Hardware for a Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Toyota Tundra
  • If you happen to know the brand and model of the hitch you can order replacement hardware to mount the hitch using # RHK. On the RHK page you would enter the hitch number and choose the manufacturer from the menu on the RHK page to get the proper hardware. The hardware from the old hitch should not be reused since it is designed to be torqued down only once. If the hitch is a factory Toyota hitch you will need to obtain the proper hardware from a Toyota dealer.
