Today we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 60898 on a 2009 Toyota Matrix. This installation will also apply for Draw-Tite part number 24812. Okay we are underneath the vehicle and we are looking at the driver-side frame rail here. As you can see at the bottom we have got three existing weld nuts. Those are going to provide our three attaching points for the trailer hitch. That is going to be the same over on the passenger side. It may be necessary to clean the weld nuts out prior to putting the hitch up into position on some models that have seen a winter or two where there might have been some road grime or corrosion built up.
On this particular vehicle our weld nuts are in good shape so I am not going to clean them out before starting the hitch installation. You are going to be attaching each one of the weld nuts using the 12 mm bolt along with the conical tooth washer. Over here on the passenger side you can see we have got the exhaust coming out. We do not need to lower the exhaust but we do need to put the arm of the hitch up and over the exhaust tube here when we go to put the hitch into position. Okay now that we have got the hitch up into position, we can go ahead and torque it down. You will want to check with your directions to verify the appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt. And now that we have got all of our bolts torqued down our installation is complete. This will complete the installation of Hidden Hitch part number 60898 on a 2009 Toyota Matrix.

2003 Matrix XR The hitch was delivered quickly and it installed easily as described. I had to tap the weld nuts on the frame prior to installation. The edges of the hitch push slightly on the molded plastic fascia of the bumper but no trimming of the bumper was required. Looking forward to getting a hitch-mounted bike rack!39644

I purchased a hitch and wire harness for my 2010 Pontiac Vibe from your company and couldn't be more delighted with the product and easy installation. I'm 64 years old and had no problems at all.( I did view the installation video ) I believe I spend more time running the power from the battery than the hitch or harness. Everything works great and because of the harness plugs ( not crimp on connectors ) I expect no future problems. In this world, It's not to often the advertising matches the product. Here are the pictures of the hitch just installed this morning on our 2009 Pontiac Vibe. The hitch was very easy to install and we're very satisfied with the quality. Even at 80 years of age, I was able to do the majority of the wiring myself, but did have my step-son do the last wire that had to go underneath and up to the battery. He also bolted on the hitch. He is a mechanic by trade and was impressed with the ease with which the hitch fit and bolted up. All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase and will recommend your company to others.19255

Great price for a good product This was purchased for a 2005 pontiac vibe. Unfortunately, it has had 5 solid years of rust build up on the threads where the 6 bolts go into. I highly recommend using some sort of tap kit to freshen up the threads. I tried wd-40, rust dissolver, and pure muscle to try and get these bolts into place. Each of the six bolts took me about 30 minutes a piece because I was basically cutting new threads with shear force. A cylindrical wire brush may have also been helpful. Once I got the holes rethreaded, installation was a snap. Makes for a good work out, and I'm feeling it days later! I can't comment on the other features of the hitch because I haven't used it yet.2742
