Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I installed this hitch on our 2013 Juke Nismo AWD.
bolted right in without any modifications needed to the Nismo rear fascia. I did need to purchase some aftermarket exhaust hangers so the exhaust tip wouldn't rattle against the hitch.

Jerry

3/23/2015

I did this on my 2013 awd nismo. A couple of problems I ran into. 1. it pushes up 1/4 inch on the rear fascia 2. These hangers let a lot of movement in the exhaust. So much that barley pushing left or right the exhaust hits the hitch assembly. I havent noticed any hitting while driving yet. I will keep an eye out there for a better solution I just dont like how loose the hangers are. Just wanted to leave a comment. Idk if this will be everyones experience. Just what I ran into. Yet to tow anything with it. Thanks Todd for the comment wouldnt have tried it without seeing someone else do it.

The hitch for my 2011 Nissan Juke was delivered in a very timely fashion. All the pieces were there and the packaging held up pretty well in delivery. As for the installation, I am a woman who knows many things, but cars is not one of them! Another woman friend and I did the hitch installation ourselves with very little issue. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. It took us a little over an hour to complete, which is longer than the estimated time you guys gave, but I thought it wasn't too bad considering neither one of us are mechanics! I think the most stressful part for me was backing up onto the lift ramps to elevate the back end of the car! I did it with no problem though! The suggestion about lubricating the rubber stabilizers was a blessing and made their removal a snap. Another customer suggested using a milk crate to hold the exhaust during installation and that worked well too! I folded an old moving blanket and put it on top of the milk crate as well for higher support. The only suggestion I have is advising customers that they'll need a torque wrench. I don't have one, so I almost panicked when I saw we need to torque the screws down to specific Lbs.-Ft. Thankfully, we could tighten them down enough to get my car to the auto shop across the street, where a mechanic there tightened them down to specs for free (I suggest throwing $10 or so to the mechanic if you can)! Other than the torque wrench issue, everything was great! I've got my hitch and cargo carrier, and am all ready to travel across the country to my new home in Colorado! Thanks for your wonderful products and customer service! I will definitely be shopping etrailer.com again when I ready for hitch accessories! I've already recommended you guys to several people looking for a hitch and accessories! Keep up the good work!

This was my first purchase through etrailer and it was very smooth! I found a link to the correct hitch from a separate forum for my vehicle. The communication from point of order to shipping was great. The hitch was received on time and installation instructions were clear. The only thing that was not mentioned was the need to tap the holes in the frame if I couldn't get the bolt started, which was the case with two of my bolts. A cheap tap set later with the correct thread size and the new bolts went right in. The hitch fit perfectly and looks great!

NissanJuke

Just thought you would liked to have known the hitch fit perfectly with the JUKE Underbody Protector Kit. It was a snap to install. Took me about 45 minutes to get it in. And by the way, great tip about lubricating the rubber muffler supports. I used a little bit of WD40 & they were easy to manipulate. I used a pair of auto wheel ramps & backed up on to them to get the car high enough to work under. A milk crate worked great to support the muffler while installing the hitch. Thanks for your help & support. Great product. It will have my recommendation.

Draw-Tite sportframe trailer hitch receiver. I watched the online videos prior to installation, which were helpful. Scraping the silicon from the fame took a little bit of time. The mounting holes on the vehicle frame on the drivers side were very corroded with rust and we needed to use a tap to clean them out. That took some time as well. Once we got everything cleaned, installation was a breeze!
There are two cosmetic things I noticed which made me feel like it was very quickly put together. First, the attachment below the receiver to connect chains to is not welded in place level. It is slightly crooked. Second, the e-trailers logo sticker was placed on the underside of the hitch and very sloppily placed at an angle. It cannot be seen when mounted to my vehicle. Not great for advertising your product. Outside of the cosmetic issues that aren't very noticeable, it is just wat I wanted! I purchased this rack to hold a bike rack, not for towing. The rack is the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike. It is amazing and pairs perfectly with the etrailer hitch!

Hitch went on without a hitch (no pun intended ) installed in 30 mins really!
Very happy with etrailer's ease of ordering and fast free shipping. Would definitely recommend . For use on 2014 Nissan Juke for a cargo rack. Very heavy duty. We have DRAWTITE hitches on all our other vechicles is why we picked this brand . It fit around muffler perfect .

2012 NissanJuke

I purchase the Curt hitch for my 2012 Juke a while ago. After installing it, the muffler always hit the hitch. Fearing it would break my muffler I removed it and contacted Curt. They promptly sent a new one with no better luck so I removed it again and gave up. I had to replace my exhaust and afterwards tried to install the Curt hitch again with the same issue and that's when I got the hitch from etrailer. It arrived in good condition and on time. Install was simple and there was plenty of clearance between the hitch and the muffler. Great product!

by:
2013 NissanJuke

It was a fairly simple installation. My only difficulty were the weld nuts on the driver's side--nothing had been attached there and the holes had some rust in the threads, making the bolts tough to get threaded.
Haven't used it yet, I'm waiting for my bike rack to arrive. I recommend this to anyone who needs a hitch.

by:
2015 NissanJuke

We got this for my daughter's 2015 Juke. The intention is not for towing, so no electrical hookup- it's for use with a platform bicycle rack. It works great for that. However, our first attempt to install it revealed it to be about the diameter of a mounting bolt too wide. After assurances that it would not void the warranty to tap the ends in slightly with a small sledgehammer, we were able to get a good fit. Otherwise, worthy of 5 stars.

by:
2015 NissanJuke

I was excited about my hitch until I tried to put an adapter on it and found there was a metal knob on the inside that was keeping my adapter from going all the way back in order to install the pin. I am not sure at this point what etrailer plans to do about this.

by:
2015 NissanJuke

Fit and finish was perfect. It was extremely easy to install on my 2015 Juke AWD with a basic 3/8in drive ratchet and torque wrench, took roughly 40 minutes to install.

by:
2011NissanJuke

+Install was fairly straightforward, due to excellent instructions. Distance between frame rail segments could be ~1/8 closer together to eliminate difficulty...

2011NissanJuke

2011 Nissan Juke AWD. Self installed by hubby. Jacked the vehicle up and placed jack stands under it. Tow plate on passenger side removed easily, but bolt holes on driver's side needed to be tapped out [just brushing them didn't do it]. Fairly easy to install once hubby borrowed a set of tap and dies from our son. Did NOT need to lower the muffler [as mentioned in some]. A bit of maneuvering and it fit in fine.

My bike rack should work fine in this, which is the reason purchased. We've purchased from Etrailer before and have always been pleased with their service, price and commitment.

2014 NissanJuke

Fits like a glove. Easy instructions. Might have to get an M10 tap to chase holes on the driver side if you have lived in wet areas or places that use salt (holes were rusty on my 2014). Quick delivery and well packaged.

very good quality and customer service. The hitch was easy to install. I never even jacked up the car. A little less room but made it possible to just lower the exhaust on the garage floor. Did not take long at all. This is the second hitch I have purchased from etrailer.com. excellent customer service thanks again

2017 NissanJuke

Just bolted up a Draw-Tite hitch to our 2017 Nissan Juke, fits like a glove. Some concern, as this product has not had a confirmed fitment to this new model year vehicle. Mr. Howell over in the subject matter department remedied this by personally providing me with the technical data from the hitch in question. I think this merits the term " above and beyond" in reference to customer service. I now feel I'll have no trouble behind me (ha) as I tow crippled motorcycles all over creation.

Don S.

4/18/2018

I dont like to use the hitch I purchased from you. Its use means I am towing a broken motorcycle instead of riding it! Seriously, Im happy with both its fitment and its function. Please be assured in the event of a future tow vehicle change, I will look to you guys first for for my tow hitch needs.

by:
2017 NissanJuke

It does the trick fast. 4 bolts half hour install. the direction were precise. I did add one thing. ran to the auto parts store and grabbed some spray on rubber undercoating so when i scraped the old hard stuff of for a flat surface i sprayed new stuff on and bolted the hitch in place just so the brine mix ( liquid salt for road treatment before a snowstorm eats metal a lot faster.) doesn't get in there every little bit helps to guard against that stuff

Still in use and great buy.I wish my life was that easy

by:
NissanJuke

This hitch fit my Nissan Juke AWD like a glove. Very easy to install. No problems with clearance of the exhaust and easy to install. Only thing to note is that the wiring will be routed through your hatch-back door seal unless you want to drill through the trunk pan to feed the wires through. That won't be a problem at all if you are planning on mounting something like a bike carrier. Even with a trailer it works well.
I would recommend this product for anybody that needs a hitch for their Juke.

by:
2011NissanJuke

Got hitch for 2011 Nissan Juke. Installation was easy, just follow instructions and make sure to raise the car high enough and secure it. All required hardware to install is included. After one year no issues, still attached and can pull trailers no problem. Make sure to get kit for electrical connectors, it makes the addition of an electrical plug to connect trailer lights, just a 20 minute job, and no special electrical knowledge is required. Highly happy with my etrailer hitch.

by:

Right side is too close to the exhaust pipe.

by:
2014 NissanJuke

Just installed me new trailer hitch for my 2014 Nissan Juke. Haven't used it yet but appears to be a very well made hitch. It took slightly 3 hours to install but that is mainly because I took my time and had to work with the back wheels on blocks. I found it easier to lower the muffler and exhaust system before removing the towing hook allowing extra room for using a ratchet wrench. I would recommend this hitch to others for those that have a do-it-yourself mentality. Besides I saved over $100 by buying on line and installing myself as opposed to buying retail and having it installed.

by:

The hitch was delivered within a few days of ordering...during the pandemic. It was a birthday present for my car and we were not in any rush to have it, but it was impressive that it arrived so quickly during the quarantine. Nevertheless, the box was not damaged and the hitch was in it with the bag of bolts and directions wrapped around it. Fortunately, there is a YouTube video made by etrailer with the installation process of my exact car. Thus, installation was super easy (having wheel ramps helped). I did not have to lower the exhaust. The only problem I had was on my end, and it was that my driver side threads were rusted and needed cleaned/tapped. Otherwise, awesome service, hitch is great for what I need, and would definitely recommend the company.

by:
NissanJuke

This is an extremely easy hitch to install. All mounting holes lined up perfectly. The actual hitch installation took less time than it did to get the back of the car jacked up and on jack stands though on the Juke it isn't absolutely necessary to jack it up.

Just a side note, this installation requires an 18mm socket/wrench to get the factory tie down point removed. Most metric socket/wrench sets seldom include an 18mm.

Quick delivery and I liked the ease of tracking the shipment.

by:
2016 NissanJuke

Easy install. I spent an hour or so between putting this on and the wiring harness. I think it looks good and makes the car more functional. I'll be using it for a small trailer to tow kayaks, bicycles, and other outdoor gear that I get tired of lifting all the way up onto my roof rack.

by:

This holds 2 bikes and 2 beach chairs!

Installation
was not to difficult. Plan on having all the correct tools when starting this project.

It took me an afternoon to install this hitch. I would buy it again!

  • Does Draw Tite Hitch 24867 Fit a 2013 Nissan Juke AWD S
The Draw Tite hitch part # 24867 is a confirmed fit for your 2013 Nissan Juke AWD. The only AWD Jukes this doesn't fit are the NISMO models. Smaller vehicles like this will only have 1-1/4 inch hitches available as the 2 inch hitches are only seen on larger vehicles that would have higher towing capacities.

Looks like the passenger side bolts are the M12 size and the driver side is M10. Since most likely you are dealing with corroded or dirty weld nuts check out the links I attached to this page which cover dealing with this.

The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24867 is not confirmed to fit the 2013 Nissan Juke Nismo or Nismo RS models. This doesn't necessarily mean that it won't fit, and can mean that has not been tested. You are correct that the picture in question is a Nismo model, and a few customers have installed the # 24867 on their Nismo models. It seems that the main issue is the hitch pushing up on the bumper, and needing to change the exhaust hangers...

It has the same ratings as the one for AWD models just with a different design to fit the FWD models. • How Does a Trailer Hitch Install on a 2013 Nissan Juke FWD
The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2013 Nissan Juke FWD is # 24892. Installation of this hitch is different than for the one on your 2011 Juke. Basically it does not use any weld nuts in the vehicle frame. None of the hitches for the 2013 FWD do. Bolts have to be ran through the frame and attached to the hitch that way (on one side) and to a tie down loop (on the passenger's side). There is a trailer hitch designed for the front wheel drive models of the 2011 Nissan Juke. Take a look at the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11302.
