Today in our 2012 Nissan Frontier, we'll be installing the draw tight hitch part number 75282. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch, pin hole to the out most edge of the bumper is 3-1/2 inches. From the top of the receiver, tube to the ground is 17-1/2 inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a draw bar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier.
Now lets go ahead with the installation. We have a total of six attachment points. There will be weld nuts in the frame, three on the drivers side and three on the passengers side. Before we put our hitch in place will want to go ahead and clean out the weld nuts because over time theyll build up with rust, dirt and debris. To clean out the weld nuts, well be using a half inch nylon tooth brush, part number 814092 and spray lubricant.
Well go ahead and start with the rear most fasteners on the drivers side. Now once we have it cleaned out well go ahead and take one of a new bolt and thread it in just to make sure its going to go nice and easily. Now with that done well go ahead and repeat the same process with the other five attachment points. Each process we do hear on the drivers side is going to get repeated identically on the passengers side. Now with all six attachment points cleaned out we are ready to go ahead and put our hitch in place.
Well be using the new ten millimeter bolt, lock washer and flat washer. Now we are ready to put our hitch in place. Its good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch while you install your fasteners. Now with all our fasteners in place well go ahead and tighten them down. We once have all the fasteners tightened down we can go ahead and torque the specifications as indicated in the instructions.
With all of our fasteners torque to specifications, this is going to complete the install of our draw tight hitch part number 75282.

In general the product was easy to install, but only after I put a call into etrailer.com. When initially installing the trailer hitch receiver the bolt holes did not line up. Etrailer.com ended up needing to provide instructions for bending the mounting brackets out to get the holes to line up. Once the brackets were bend out the installation was simple and straight forward.79376

Just installed yesterday so none available but installation was very simple. It took longer to back up my truck and get my tools tan it did to install. 6 bolts into a frame with pre positioned weldnuts and i was done :-) 52713

Free delivery only took a few days. Hitch did not line up quite right. Customer service provide explanation and strategies to line up the holes. I told my wife I could install this hitch and the wire harness in less then ten minutes! She did not believe this so when I walked back in the house after ten minutes, and said all done and tools put away, she had to come out and see! My 2008 Nissan Frontier. Turns out it didn’t have the trailer tow package but I was able to purchase the relay harness from my Nissan dealer. It also included the trailer wiring harness that not only fit the vehicle frame but connected perfectly with the mounting plate on the new hitch. Bought the DrawTite bolt on hitch kit. It had a slight bend on the passenger side which required me to use a small block of wood between the hitch and the rear bumper to prevent it from slipping while I used a light tug on a small crowbar to move the bracket into place directly over the mounting holes. Once I got the four corner bolts in it was a snap after that. I took these photos with the truck up on a pair of ramps while I was installing the tow package relays and the trailer wiring harness a few days after I installed the hitch. Photo 1: A rear view of the mounted hitch. Nice clean lines, doesn’t hang too low or stick out too far in back. A perfect fit! Photo 2: Another angle of the hitch. The receiver is in place while the rest of the hitch is barely visible below the chassis. Photo 3: From beneath. The reason I ordered the DrawTite hitch is the drawbar goes completely through the mounting brackets rather than simply welded to the sides. The six mounting bolts are snug up under the frame and the tab on the driver side is perfect for mounting the wiring harness/plug. Photo 4: The wiring harness that came with the tow package relay harness attaches directly to the drawbar perfectly. Rather than using the two 10mm hex head screw/bolts that came with the kit I attached the wiring bracket to the drawbar plate with two 7/16” x ½” coarse thread screws with washers and lock washers that I had on hand in the workshop.23623
