Received the package in a timely fashion. The equipment fit almost perfectly. I had to use the spacer washers to get the final little giggle worked out. I initially started on this project by myself but quickly realized that it required at least three hands. It was pretty much impossible to hold up the hitch while pulling the plastic bumper frame away from the cross bar enough to get the long bolts between the plastic and the hitch. Luckily my neighbor came out and the two of us installed it in less than a half hour. Anticipate having to use the spacers on the Jeep Grand Cherokee which is a little bit of a pain in the rear as they either want to slip behind the metal and roll around or you have to use a Flathead and a hammer to tap it into place. I suggest getting some extra strength thread glue to guarantee the bolts never rattle loose from vibration. The electrical was incredibly easy to install. All in all I have to give the company and the product two thumbs up. The only two reasons that I didn't rate it 'Excellent' is because (1) it really did need two people to install and (2) I haven't actually hooked any loads up so I can only assume that will work out well.7395

Hidden Hitch and wiring harness for 2007 Jeep Commander arrived quicker than I anticipated. The video for hitch installation is easy to follow and makes the install easier to do, it was much less than the 30 minutes install time. The wiring harness also is easy. The hardest part was drilling the hole for the ground wire and that was nothing. The right products to do the job, fair price, and delivered ahead of time. Great job!! 7305

We just got done installing the hitch after 3 liesurely hours rather than the "20 minutes" advertised. Although we had some reservations as to how structurally suited our Jeep's underpinnings for this foot long perpendicular to the road design might be, the combination of half inch welded metal hitch, four half inch bolts, a hand full of shims, and excellent instructions has allayed all concerns. Got this for our 2007 Jeep Commander. The video really helped- make sure you watch it. Took the spare tire out, and about 12 minutes later, I had the hitch installed. You'll need a large socket wrench. The only trouble I had was trying to get the spare tire back into place. Tried and tried, but it just wouldn't fit. Got rather frustrated, and then I realized that the spare measured 265, rather than the 245s that were on the vehicle. No wonder it wouldn't fit. I took the tire to a tire store and traded for a smaller spare, and voila it fit. There was absolutely no way that a size 265 spare tire was going fit in there with the hitch in place. We've carried a cargo tray hitch with this, and it works fine. Etrailer was very prompt with delivery- came in just 2 days. I received several emails with updates. I'm very pleased with both the product and the service.46985

With the exception of dropping my socket wrench on my big toenail (OUCH), this installation was incredibly easy. I don't know what a couple of other commenters were talking about not being able to hold the hitch receiver up while putting in the bolts. I had my 10 year old son help on Fathers Day. He handed me the bolts ;-) what a good boy. 20 minutes, including the time it took to lower the spare tire. Hint to others, after install with the spacers, the spare tire is very tight... May want to forgo spacers, or try to put them in back, the 2-4 mm might help.44533

I installed this hitch to my 06 Grand Cherokee in 20 minutes. Have used it 4 times to tow my boat and the hitch works. I had to use the included spacer washers in order to get a tight fit to my rear bumper frame. Aligning the washers correctly & taping them in place was the most difficult part of the installation.39706

Hitch is great, as described, and easy to install. I've got a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the OEM tow hook. The tow hook removal is the worst part: (3) easy-access bolts, and (1) not-so-easy-access bolt. The tough bolt is the cross-brace, which can only be loosened from the bolt-head on the rear-facing side of the vehicle. I used an 18 mm wrench for these bolts. Other than the tow hook removal, it's a piece-of-cake!39449

This hitch is very solid and well built hitch. If you have tow hooks on your Jeep Grand Cherokee you may have to remove the bumper flashing to get to two hidden bolts. Allow at least an hour + to remove all tow hook bracket bolts. After the prep stage of removing the tow hook bracket and removing a few plastic bumper flashing push pins, this was a very easy install. 36298

Mounted it Sunday, up and towing on Monday. Great unit, easy to install with the detailed instructions to my vehicle. Should note there is a little spare tire rub when dropping the spare with this unit attached to my '07 Commander, but nothing that's a major issue. Also got the great wiring harness which was easy to install. Got a 3'rd party tow bar and ball, meets my trailer exactly at a perfect level. Just installed the hitch on my 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Fit great and was relatively easy to install. I installed by myself and had almost no trouble, very straightforward. The only issue is that the plastic rivet clips on the bumper won't line up to be reattached to the frame after the job was done. This however really poses no problem, the bumper is secure against the hitch even without the rivets and does NOT rattle, and looks just as it did prior to the job. 26573

every thing about the hitch installation is correct went very fast and was super easy. The only thing that I would like to point out is the removal of the standard J tow hook that comes stock with teh commander. You have to remove the cross brace for the J hook. The cross brace ties driectly into the rear frame where the tow hitch needs to go. The bolt that you need to take out has to be removed from the BUMPER SIDE that is the very rear end. You can not remove the nut because the nut is welded onto the cross brace.22338

It's a great hitch and installation was as easy as the other reviewers said it would be! The hitch itself is hefty like you want your hitch to be... the welds are clean and solid, and the coating/paint is good and thick. I installed it on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Once I dropped the spare tire out of the way, the hitch literally just slides into place and you just bolt it on with four 3/4" bolts. Done. I also got the wiring harness (118394) which was just as easy to install. Watch the video and you'll be ready to go. Pop off the brake lights, plug the harness in, and then run the wires.
