Today on this 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee were gonna install part number 36362 from Draw Tite. Alright, this is what the hitch looks like when its installed. Next well give you some measurements thatll help out in selecting some accessories. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside edge of bumper is going to be 4 inches and from the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 17 inches. Now well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing that you need to do is go ahead and lower spare tire and get that out of the way.
Then when need to remove 2 plastic pins that hold the bumper fixture into the bumper structure. Well take the hitch, do a test fit and what were looking for is a gap between the bumper structure and the hitch. It does come with washers to take up the gap. These are thin washers were just gonna take some electric tapes and just use them to hold them in place while I push the hitch up. So well go ahead and put our hitch back into place.
Then well take our hex bolt with conical tooth washer and the teeth point towards the hitch and well just run it into the threaded nuts that are welded on the back side of this hitch. With all of our hardware installed, we can go ahead and snug them down. We can go ahead and torque everything as specified in the instructions. Alright, with the hitch installed well go ahead and reinstall our plastic rivets and there you have for part number 36362 from Draw Tite on our 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. .

The Drawtite hitch was "snap" to install and took me approx. 20 minutes w/no special tools, just laying on my back on my garage floor. Fron the rear the hitch looks as if it were installed at the factory. I'm very please w/the product and the service I received from etrailer. 59297

Really was easy Installed on 09 Grand Cherokee. It took me an hour from start to finish taking my time. I used nothing but a flat screwdriver to remove the bumper fascia pins and a good quality 1/2" socket set. It says to torque to a specified setting, but I'm only using it for a bike rack so I just leaned into it pretty firmly. I also don't need the wiring so add time for that. No alterations needed to bumper, etc.1694
