After a year of use, the Curt Trailer Hitch looks like new and has handled everything Ive thrown at it.

by:
2007 HondaOdyssey

The best part about buying from etrailer.com was the educational videos they make. I watched them all over and over again to make sure I was doing everything right.
The Curt Hitch worked out great for our Yakima bike rack. It took many hours of scrubbing off the rust from the weld nuts of our 2007 Honda Odyssey (I definitely recommend buying a wire brush if your vehicle is more than a year or two old!). Once they were all clean, the installation was super easy. (You'll also want to pick up a torque wrench if you don't have one; my neighbor over-torqued and broke off one of the weld nuts on his vehicle!)
Thanks again to eTrailer for great products and a great and super helpful website.

by:

Trailer hitch shipped quickly and was very easy to install. Exhaust does not need to be removed. Hitch just slides underneath. Did it all by myself lying under the car and took less than 30 minutes

by:

Installation directions and videos were super helpful. Installed it between the end of work and dinner time.

by:

Installation was flawless as advertised. No problems at all. I will say that my sister has the same hitch and was rearended. The hitch took the pain, and the car was repaired the hitch is still on.

Carl,Thank you for your review on C12031. I am sorry your sister was involved in an accident, I hope she was okay. In the interest of safety she may want to replace the hitch. In high impact situations these hitches can get hairline cracks that are not always visible. These cracks can adversely effect the capacity and structural integrity of the hitch. I would not recommend to continue using this hitch after being rear-ended.

Ford Transit Connect

This trailer hitch was easy to install by myself (using a floor jack to raise it into position) and has worked well for me. The directions and on-line video were excellent. I only use the hitch occasionally but appreciate the knowledge of having it ready to use when I need it. I have not as yet installed the light hook up kit but hope to get around to that soon. etrailer was helpful in the ordering process and the product was delivered promptly and undamaged from transit. I would highly recommend both the product and the company.

by:
2012 HondaOdyssey

This is the second hitch I've purchased from etrailer and I've had excellent service both times. This Curt trailer hitch was deliverede about a week after ordering and I promptly installed it without any problems. Our Odyssey had less than 100 miles on it so the frame nuts did not need any cleaning. A couple differences in the packaged instructions from the website video: the exhaust pipe did not have to be dropped - you just push the exhaust away a few inches to gain space to torque the bolts; the trim panel on the driver's side is easily trimmed with box cutters and re-installed after the installation for a cleaner looking installation. Have the right tools and an extra pair of hands ready and this is about a 30-40 minute job.

by:
2006 HondaOdyssey

The Curt Trailer Hitch came exactly as advertised within a week. It went on easily, exactly as the instructions said. I was happy to finally get a chance to use my torque wrench, but I really don't think I needed it.

I also liked the video instructions on the website. The ones in the package were ok, but the video on the etrailer.com website made it look easy...and sure enough, it was. Highly recommended!

I would take a picture, but (in addition to being lazy), there is no point as it looks exactly like the pics on the website. :)

Honda

The hitch took about two hours to put on but that was due to a) not having the tools I needed, b) most of the time was spent trying to get the little plastic holders to come out and then trying to put them back in. real time wasn't much and it looks really good especially since the Honda dealership wanted $1900 to install a hitch. So adding in an hour for the wiring harness makes a total of 3 hours and $200 vs. $1,900. Now that's Priceless to me. Thanks for a great product and clear instructions.

by:

A great looking hitch and works really well. Thanks for your speedy and great service in shipping and handling also. In general thanks to all involved.

2011 HondaOdyssey

Just installed this Curt 1-1/4 hitch on a 2 year old 2011 Honda Odyssey. I watched the etrailer installation video which was very helpful. I used the #814092 tube brush to clean out the threads on the frame. An additional feature of this Curt hitch is the carriage bolt on the driver side that helps to attach the hitch to the frame. The passenger side of the hitch is able to rest on the exhaust while you bolt up the driver side. Everything went smoothly and I was able to install the hitch by myself in about 30 minutes. A great product ... I'm happy!

by:
2009 HondaOdyssey

This Curt hitch fit our 2009 Odyssey perfectly, and really did take only about 20 minutes to install. The included "fish wire" worked great and was a big help with the third bolt on the driver side. And as always, excellent service from etrailer.com!

by:
2016 HondaOdyssey

Hitch went on ok , but should take a look at the mounting hole distances again, was very close not to fit, mounting hole distances are at the exstream end of the oval shaped hole, one moremilimeter and it would not have fit!, you need to check with the manufacture, the was the second hitch, the first one I got , mounting holes were off by 3/8 of an inch in distance!!

by:
2015 HondaOdyssey

I purchased the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver and T connector wiring harness to install on my 2015 Honda Odyssey. I was amazed at the prompt attention my order was given and the competence of the person that took my order. I placed my order on Wed. and by Fri. afternoon my installation was completed. The video instructions were very helpful and made installation very easy. I'm extremely happy with the product and service that I received.

by:
2013 HondaOdyssey

I asked etrailer which unit to order. Upon arrival, we discovered the hitch was not the correct the size. I contacted etrailer and they provided a free return shipping and sent the replacement unit at the same time!

GREAT customer service

by:

Very good design and complete with all needed hardware. The fish wire used to install the last bolt needs to have the coil wound tighter so it fits completely into the threads of the bolt, or else the square hole in the rectangular washer needs to be slightly larger. It is very difficult to pull the wire and bolt through the washer once it is in place inside the frame rail. If you pull long and hard enough, the coil slowly unravels and the bolt eventually pops through. Otherwise the installation was straight forward and easy.

by:
2007 HondaOdyssey

Fast shipping - product arrived next day with free shipping! Install was simple, online videos extremely helpful. Curt hitch looks great on our 2007 Honda Odyssey. I like the round tube design with closed ends. To install, I sprayed bolt holes with Gunk Liquid Wrench penetrating oil and let soak for 10-15 mins. I bought a 1/2" diameter round tube brush at Ace Hardware and used it in my power drill to clean out the bolt threads. Bolts then screwed in easily making install a snap. Thanks for great customer service!

I Always buy my hitches from you, and always have great service.

2008 HondaOdyssey

The hitch shipped fast and went on my 2008 Odessey easily. I used 1 floor jack and did each side loose to start. I also found that it was not necessary to unhook the exhaust mount, the hitch slides under it fairly easily. I am not all that mechically inclined, but managed the install in under an hour. wd40, cleaning, and pre- running each bolt through before getting the hitch in position, really helped alot I think. All holes lined up perfectly. Now to get a bike rack...

by:
2008 HondaOdyssey

Hitch was very easy to install. Came with necessary hardware, clear and simple installation instructions, and a fish wire for installing one of the bolts in the frame rail which worked excellent. Ordered with express delivery option, and the hitch was delivered to my home in 48 hours. (Thanks also to Honda for making the vehicle with hitch installation in mind.)

by:

As described, this hitch was super easy to install, even for a novice like myself. I had the hitch and the wiring harness all installed and ready to go within an hour of opening the box.

by:
2006 HondaOdyssey

The hitch is exactly as advertised and fits perfectly. The video was enormously helpful. My Odyssey is a 2006 so there may have been more build up in the weld nuts (as they call them in the video) than on a newer model. It took extensive cleaning with the tube brush before I could the bolt to screw in. This looks like an easy step to overlook but it proved to be integral. I would recommend making sure you have the brush and lubricant handy before starting the installation.

2013 HondaOdyssey

I ordered this hitch for my Mom's new van. It arrived quickly and in good condition. I installed it yesterday a bit after it arrived and the install was very easy! I watched your online video on installation and ordered based on the many pictures that showed exactly how it looked. I am very satisfied with etrailer.com for both the product and all of the useful information. Thanks for making this a very easy purchase!

2016 HondaOdyssey

Great made in America hitch. Sturdy and well built with excellent welds and a perfect finish. This hitch was easy to install at home after watching the video from etrailer. This is the second time we bought from this company and will definitely come back again.

Recieved fast, easily installed. Just wish I knew about the requirement for a tether strap when using a cargo carrier or bike rack.

  • Bolt Hole Spacing of Curt Class II C12031 Receiver Hitch
The side to side bolt hole spacing of the Curt Class II # C12031 hitch is 56.13 inches, center to center. The bolt holes on each mounting flange are 3.18 inches apart, also measured center to center. I've shown these dimensions on the photo I've provided. When we installed the hitch on a 2016 Honda Odyssey, we found that the inside top edge of the receiver tube sat 13-1/4 inches above the pavement, and the hitch pin hole of the receiver was recessed under the bumper by 4-1/2 inches. • How to Clean The Weld Nuts of a 2002 Honda Odyssey to Install a CURT Trailer Hitch
Sometimes weldnuts need to be cleaned, it can be spatter from when the frame was welded together or it could be paint or corrosion. To clean the threads out well, you can use a wire brush and some brake cleaner. Make sure you start the bolts so they are not cross threading the nuts. Due to the amount of winters your 2002 Honda Odyssey has seen it would seem likely that the weld nuts are in need of being cleaned out. The additional corrosion in the weldnut will make them seem to be too...

  • Troubleshooting Stripped Weldnut in Frame Rail For 2014 Honda Odyssey Hitch Installation
Unfortunately your photo did not come through, but I believe I know exactly how to help. The weldnut is still in place, it just has been stripped on the inside. So my recommendation is to go to the local hardware store and get a tap to allow you to make the weld nut accept a slightly larger bolt and then use a grade 5 bolt that matches your tap to allow you to torque the bolt correctly per the hitch installation instruction.

  • Curt or Draw Tite Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Honda Odyssey
For your 2016 Honda Odyssey I would recommend the Draw Tite hitch part # 36417 over the Curt hitch part # C12031 because if you were to use a hitch mounted accessory like a bike rack the Draw Tite does not require the use of a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 like the Curt does. Either hitch would have about the same visibility. Some people prefer the look of square tube over round tube, but realistically both will look about the same.

Yes. For your 2015 Honda Odyssey, Curt makes two hitch options. The first is the 2 inch receiver # C13068 and the second is a 1-1/4 inch receiver # C12031. Both will fit model years 1999-2017.
