I was looking to install a 5 Bike Car Rack on my wife’s SUV and need to install a hitch to do so. While doing research online, I came across etrailer.com and discovered they had a custom hitch for her vehicle and a video demonstrating the product on her exact SUV. I placed the order online and received my custom hitch on the 4th business day. I attempted to install it myself, the hitch is 50 lbs, so it was very difficult to do so without assistance. I brought it to my mechanic for installation, it took him 15 minutes to install it and charged a $25 service fee. I was extremely pleased with etrailer’s prompt service and their custom fit product. I will absolutely order from here again and refer my friends and family as well.38870

Easy to install, heavy duty Installed on 2010 Santa Fe, by myself. Hitch could have been at least 1" closer to muffler. That would have reduced visibility of hitch. Had 1&1/4" clearance as installed. Only used once so far to carry bike rack w/2 bikes. It took about 15 min. to install once materials gathered to prop up and hold in place. Vehicle had elct. connectors under left rear 1/4 panel, but decided to use T connector package & keep all connections inside to prevent connector corrosion. That process was as simple as video at "etrailer" webb site. 3186

Nice hitch. Prompt shipping. They should let you know just how much the muffler will be in the way. [2012 Hyundai Sante fe] If you leave the muffler in place [as we did] you should install one bolt in the driver side and then you can just move the muffler out of the way enough to just get the hitch around it. Muffler is mounted with flexible straps. Getting the muffler side bolts in requires patience . But I have more time than money these days so it was worth it. This hitch is great. The dealership quoted me $400 for a hitch. This one is pretty discrete and relatively easy to install. I put it on myself with the help of a floor jack. The only difficulty was the last bolt next to the muffler and probably would be easier with two people, but I managed to get it in with a ratchet extension. the product was easy to install. the only problem that I had is that Kia had one of their thread holes out of alignment. took about 40 minutes to install. Used the dog leash to wrap around the muffler and had the wife pull to the side a little bit to allow access to the passenger side bolts. 79311

I installed this hitch in about 20 minutes on a 2013 Kia Sorento.with little problems. Remember to install the passenger's side first. I did run into a problem getting to one of the bolts under the muffler. The muffler is on rubber holders. I could not move the muffler by hand, but a little pressure from a crow bar to move the muffler just a little, let me get to the bolt. The rubber holder allow the muffler to move so the crow bar did not damage. Other 3 bolts were easy to get to. The hitch is heavy so either find a helper or use something to hold one end up to the car as you bolt on the other end.59572

I ordered the Hidden Hitch -class III hitch and the Swagman XTC2 hitch-mounted bike carrier together for my 2012 Kia Sorento. Though the box that the hitch came in was beat up pretty bad by UPS, both boxes arrived safely 5 days later. The hitch is well made and suprisingly quite heavy. I was able to install it myself lying on the garage floor and using my floor jack to raise up the hitch. All 4 holes lined up perfectly. Had it all done in about 40 minutes. Having a second person probably would have made it even easier, but I still got it done on my own. I definitely would recommend this hitch for anyone looking for a class III hitch. The Swagman 2 bike carrier fits great in the 2" receiver as well. Another happy etrailer customer!52469

The only comment he had was the bolt next to the muffler was a little tough to get to - but that is not a reflection of the hitch. Got the trailer hitch very quickly after ordering. (Less than a week). My neighbor offered to help install it. He is a car fanatic so he had all the tools we needed. Used a jack to hold the hitch in place to set the first bolts. A friend stopped by and he helped pull the muffler over just a bit and the final bolt was installed. Without the extra set of hands and the jack it could have been a cumbersome job for me. Installation took less than 20 minutes once we got the props in place. Fit my 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe perfectly. It is a two-person job unless you can find something to prop up each side so you can get the first bolts in. You will need a small block of wood to wedge in between the muffler and right rear tire to move the muffler over enough so you have clear access to the bolt holes. It is somewhat challenging to torque the bolts to 59 ft-lbs using socket extenders while laying on your back under the car, but it's doable. I would recommend etrailer pack the hitches at bit better. Mine came via UPS with the box all torn up and the hitch in need of some touch-up paint on a few places where it was knocked off. Overall, it's worth doing the hitch yourself for the money saved over a local install.49791

Hitch came quickly. Its pretty solid and should stand up to what I'll need it for! Installation was a two person job, so I enlisted the help of my neighbor. We got it installed in about 20 minutes with a ratchet, socket, and torque wrench. Haven't had a chance to use it, but its nice to know its there when I need it! The only downside to it was that the zip-ties that came with the wiring harness I needed were only 4 inches and not long enough to wrap around the hitch, so I had to make a run to pick up some 11 inch ones.48359

Came with a few places where the paint flaked off and need to repair it with some primer and paint. Seems like semi-gloss black to me.45359

The hidden hitch receiver was easy to install and has good clearance for the exhaust. I was a little supprised when I noticed it is about two inches lower on the exhaust side and it looks crooked but it has to clear the eshaust so it is OK. Where a person is using the factory installed trailer tow plugs for the electrical connections I soon realized that I should have hooked the electrical up first. Anyway it got hooked up without to much trouble. I had called KIA and asked them to tell me how I could tell if I had a car equiped for trailer towing and they couldn't tell me. I found out by reading the reviews of other customers. Everything works great Thank You42781

Only exception to everything being outstanding was that the packaging wasn't good enough to keep the hitch from being scuffed and chipped in shipping. Order wad timely and I was kept informed of my order status. The hitch was high quality and fit perfectly. Getting the bolts in on the exhaust side was challenging, you just need to muscle it out of the way and have at it. Took me about 45 minutes to install the hitch and about 2hours to install the wire harness31994

This receiver hitch mounts easily, even with my KIA Sorento there was no need to jack up the back end. The slotted holes were right on the money. The receiver is heavy, but if you mount one end up while the other is on the ground it is easily manageable. Nice product, installed in 15 minutes after I got the tools together.31077

The instructions had me taking the car apart and were not very clear. I called and had forgotten about your video. After watching your video the wiring was in in 10 min. As advertized, really fast shipping. If you want to save yourself a few minutes in the install, here's the quick way to mount this to your santa fe if you're doing the job by yourself. Get some blocks - 4x4's or bigger and position the blocks under the hitch to get it into place and touching the frame. No need to jack up the rear. Now put in the two bolts that go on the side away from the muffler. Just put them in a few turns. On the muffler side, don't have the blocks all the way to the end - move them about 1/3 towards the middle. Get a 1x3 (or 2) about 2-3 foot long and use this as a lever to move the muffler a few inches towards the center of the car. Now both bolt holes are exposed. Just put the bolts in, get it squared up and tighten it down. 22664

I installed this trailer hitch on the Kia Sorento LX 4 cyl. by myself, in my garage, only raising the vehicle 1.5 inches by driving the rear wheels onto a 2x6. The whole process took well under an hour. Did not have to remove muffler or any other parts. Did not have to alter any body or exhaust parts. No drilling necessary. (Just had to push the muffler about 1/2 inch to the side to get clear access to the frame. Next step - bike rack. Then the hitch will be put to use.19783

The hitch went on just as described. My wife had to help and we used a homemade blocking system to level the hitch and prevent having to hold the full weight of the hitch. She started the bolts while i held each side of the hitch in place. Definitely the back bolt on the muffler side is challenging. We mounted the easier bolts first before attacking this one. With the right length extension she was able to get it started, but i had to hold the muffler to the side a little to gain clearance for the socket and extension. You can gain a little clearance this way without actually dropping the muffler.17318
