Today, on our 2002 Ford F-150, were going to install part number 13355 from Curt. All right, this is what the hitch will look like once its installed on the vehicle. Next, well give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 18 1/2 inches and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will about 2 1/2 inches. Now, Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. The first thing were going to do is go ahead and show the attachment points on the frame. There are three attachment points located at the bottom edge of the frame, two close to the bumper and one further up.
Were looking at the passenger side, its going to be identical on the driver side.Next, well go ahead and install the hardware for the hitch. We have the block and the carriage bolt and the flange nut. Well take our block, run a bolt through it and then install it into the frame. Well use this block and bolt combination on all six holes. All right, now with an extra set of hands well go ahead and lift the hitch up and install the flange nuts.
Okay, with all the flange nuts loosely installed we can go ahead and tighten down the hardware and then go ahead and torque the bolts down as specified in the instructions. Now, some vehicles spare tire might be in the way, so you may have to loosen up the spare tire to install the hardware. Once all our bolts are torqued down, thatll finish it for our install of part number 13355 from Curt on our 2002 Ford F-150.

I installed this hitch receiver by myself in less than an hour. I didn't time it but probably between 30-40 minutes. I did not let the spare down as I had plenty of clearance without doing so. I placed all the bolts through their holes, then I braced one side of the receiver up with my knee while I started a nut on the other side. Once I had that side secured, I did the same for side I was holding up with my knee. After that it was a piece of cake to get the remaining 4 nuts started and them all tightened down. I installed this on a red 2004 Ford F150 Heritage edition 4x4. I haven't towed with it yet but it seems sturdy and looks great. I must compliment etrailer on their service. They kept me well informed as to the status of my order and it was shipped and received quickly. Great service! 53929

I ordered this hitch for my '97 F-150 to tow a small travel trailer. It arrived in a timely manner. As promised, the hitch bolted into existing holes in the truck frame with the included hardware. I did have to put some spacers on the bumper to get it to squeeze in there, but that may have been because of a little fender bender in the past. Other than that, the hitch went on easily, and seems to work well. I'm very pleased with this purchase.12112
