Today on our 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe we'll be installing the Draw-Tite hitch, part number 75684. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is 4 inches. From the top of the inside of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 12 3/4 inches. This will assist you when selecting accessories such as a ball mount, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier.
First, before we install the hitch, we'll go ahead and point out the attachment points. These will be weld nuts in the bottom of the frame rail, two on each side. Now before we attempt to install the hitch we'll first go ahead and clean out the weld nuts using a little spray lubricant and a half inch nylon tube brush, part number 814092, we'll thoroughly clean the threads out from any rust, dust, dirt, or debris build up. Note that in extreme cases you may need to use a thread tap in order to clean out the weld nuts. Now, with the weld nut cleaned out, we'll go ahead and take one of the new fasteners and thread it into the weld nut to make sure it goes nice and easily.
Now we'll go ahead and repeat the same process for our other three attachment points. Next were ready to go ahead and install the hitch. To install the hitch we'll be using the new 10 millimeter bolt and 7/16th conical tooth washer, the teeth of the washer will face the hitch. Now it's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch while you install the fasteners. We'll pick the passenger side up over the exhaust and then bring the drivers side into position.
We'll install each passenger finger tight until we have them all installed. Now we'll go ahead and tighten them down. Next we'll torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. With all four fasteners torqued to specifications securing the hitch, that'll complete the install of our Draw-Tite hitch, part number 75684, on our 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Excellent quality. Fairly easy to install. It took my son and I about 30 minutes to get it mounted and tighten the bolts. Its heavy so two people make it much easier to hold each end in place while you get the bolts threated in. Make sure the muffler is cold before installing as you have to work right next to it. Install the bolts on the drivers side first to support that end. Then the second person can push the muffler slightly out of the way (about 1") while the first person gets the bolts into the holes on the passenger side.22836

This hitch fit perfectly in my 2011 Kia Sorento LX just as advertised and others have claimed on this page. Here's a couple of tricks I used to make it a little easier on me while I did a one-man install: 1. Drive the vehicle up onto 2x4 or 2x6 to give you a little extra room underneath (really no need to use a lift or jack (which is a little dangerous). 2. One 10" bucket was sufficient in bracing up the first side I bolted in, the passenger side. 3. Using another 2x4, I slid it between the frame and the muffler which created enough room to get the socket on the bolt head. 4. You WILL need a 6" or longer socket extension to get to the forward bolt on the passenger side (unless you drop the muffler which I found more difficult and frustrating than I wanted to deal with). 5. And, here's a bonus, if you're using a SportRack folding hitch basket, you will not be able to fold it up because it doesn't clear the bumper no matter how you align the bolt.21781

I ordered this product on Wednesday and received it on Friday, and this was ground shipping folks! The box was a little beaten up, but the products inside were fine. My order also included a Cargo Carrier and Cargo Bag that I have not set up just yet. The hitch took about an hour to mount by myself. Using a few pieces of 2 X 4, I was able to get the unit close to the frame. Using my Car Jack, I was able to get in position and jack up each side to mount the screws. They lined up perfectly on my Kia 2011 Sorento (V6). The "dual" exhaust pipes located on the passenger side were a small challenge, but by simply pushing the pipes towards the driver side, I was able to get to the bolts and secure both of them. I highly suggest having some type of help when it comes to mounting this if you intend on installing it yourself. The Hitch is very durable and solid. I bought it for my bike holder and for vacationing with the growing family. Since we have dual sun roofs on the Kia, I didn't want to spoil the view with an undercarriage holding our luggage. The benefits of saving gas, with less wind drag was one and also the onslaught of road kill bugs that make cleaning and reusing the roof bags less enjoyable. The ease of all family members to gather their bags makes "my" job that much easier and now I can enjoy vacations once again. I will write a review on the Curt 20X48 Cargo Carrier and the Rola Expandable Cargo Bag next month when I go on a mini vacation. Many thanks etrailer.com!!!8688

I was able to install the product on my 2011 Sorento EX 4-Cyl in less than 1 hour by myself. It would have been easier with two people as recommended by the install instructions. I used a stack of boards to hold up one side of the receiver while I bolted in the other. It was not a problem to move the exhaust an inch to the side to access the holes.41912

Hitch was delivered within 5 days. Etrailer should completely wrap the hitch with cardboard as mine (and I heard others) get slightly scratched up in transit. I put this hitch on myself within an hour. Perfect fit, solid, and looks great. Hint to help install; install drivers side first (loose fit the bolts), then the rear passenger side bolt, and for the hardest one to get at, with a piece of wood create a wedge to insert between the muffler and the side of the hitch, makes inserting that last bolt easy. Surprise! It was easier than I thought! It took my son and myself about 15 minutes to install the hitch and we didn't have to jack it up or use car ramps. We just crawled under the car and the hitch bolted right up with a perfect fit since Hyundai has the frame ready to go with welded nuts! The wiring harness took me about 35 minutes to install, with the directions that they gave me, it was very easy too. I'll never to pay to have this done again! 24040

Installs fast on a 2011 hyundai santa fe. Its tucked nicely under the car so its not an eye soar when its not being used. Nothing has to be removed for its installation like spare tire or muffler. It just goes right in. All hardware comes with it but I wish it came with some lock tight but other than that its a great buy. As for etrailer. I have used them for everything trailer related now and I always have a good experience. As for wiring etrailer's default with this hitch is the wire kit that you tap into the rear lights for. Too much work. My car had the plug and play wires ready to go from factory, so I bought the other kit. That too install in minutes. Check your car before you buy. You will find them on the inside of the back fender of the driver's side. 23772
