Pros: Very strong and well made. Looks great on car. Con: A 128i Convertible does not have a Rear Bumper Fascia (as shown in installation instructions), just an entire Rear Bumper Cover. Was unable to remove Bumper Cover. Did get hitch installed with persistence and nimble fingers as space is very limited. Took 2 hours to install. 17985

The best way to trim these parts is to take them off the vehicle and use a Dremel with cut off disc. A steady hand is required, and the edges can be touched up with a small file. A razor knife is also an option, but...

  • Muffler of 2010 BMW 1 Series Rattles Against Recently Installed Hitch
  • I have not had any specific feedback on that vehicle, but having a muffler rattle against a hitch is a fairly common occurrence that is easily repairable. Because an exhaust system is meant to move on its hangers, it does not sit in a fixed position, and this position can vary a bit from vehicle to vehicle. If you look at the FAQ article I have linked you to, you can see some different strategies like slightly bending the exhaust hangers to provide more clearance between the hitch and...
