Today on our 2008 Kia Sorento we'll be installing the Curt Hitch, part number c13513. This is what our hitch will look like once its installed. Next we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist your selecting accessories for your new hitch such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier.From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 1-1/2 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 14-1/2 inches. Now let's go ahead with the installation. To begin our install we'll first point out the attachment points.

We'll have a total of four attachment points, two in each frame rail. These attachment points will be weld nuts built into the frame by the manufacturer.Now to make it easier to get access to the driver side weld nuts we're going to go ahead and remove the rubber isolator from the muffler metal hanger. To remove the rubber isolator we'll spray it down with some spray lubricant and then use our pry bar to remove the rubber isolator from the metal hanger. Now with that out of the way we'll need to go ahead and prepare the weld nuts.Using some spray lubricant and a half inch nylon tube brush, part number 814092 we're going to go ahead and thoroughly clean out those threads. Note in extreme cases it may be necessary to use a thread tip to clean out the excess rust, dirt built up.

Now with the hole cleaned out we'll go ahead and take one of the new fasteners and thread it into the weld nut to make sure it'll go nice and easily.With that done we're now ready to go ahead and install the hitch. We'll be securing the hitch with the 12mm bolt and half inch conical tooth washer. The teeth of the washer will face the hitch. We'll install the passenger side fasteners finger tight then move over to the driver's side and repeat the same process. Now with all four bolts in place we'll go ahead and tighten them down.Next we'll torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions.

Now with our hitch secured and torqued to specifications we can go ahead and reinstall the exhaust. That will complete our install of the Curt Hitch, part number C13513 on our 2008 Kia Sorento.

Being 70 years old I thought I would have to hire some one to install the hitch for me. When I received the hitch and read the simple instructions I thought I would give it a try by myself, around 45 minutes later I was through with the hitch and wiring harness. Thanks a lot etrailer.com60104

would have been easier to install if the connecting bolts were a little longer, at least the length of the thickness of the locking washers. I had to put it up w/o the washers to bend the metal connecting plates, then take off each bolt install the washer and put them back on. this increased the install time to over two hours. still not bad considering i did it all by my self..... LONGER BOLTS NEEDED.54250

very easy to install as long as someone holds the other end of hitch.I used a jack to hold up other end and installed hitch and wireing in less than 30 min.Etrailer sent item quick and I am completely happy with this company and products.38196

Receiver and wiring harness installed exactly as indicated. Installation videos were very helpful. Only issue was bolts with conical washers would not quite reach frame of car. Had to intall w/o washers to spread plates and then one by one take out bolts, add washers and re-install bolt. This took extra time but final install looks great. 21020

Yes, the Curt trailer hitch # C13513 is a confirmed fit for a 2008 Kia Sorento. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you and a link to a video showing a typical installation. Will Installing Curt Class III # C13513 Interfere with Spare Tire on 2006 Kia Sorento
The presence of the hitch will prevent the spare tire from dropping straight downward while it is being lowered. While lowering the spare, you will need to push forward on it until it clears the hitch cross tube, at which point it will drop free. We have the same situation on my wifes Kia Sedona van, and I can tell you from experience that it is not difficult to get the spare off of the vehicle.
