• The Ball mount for the 12255 Class II receiver hitch has a 2-5/8 inch rise and is to be used in the rise position only on the 2008 Jeep Patriot. This ball mount should accommodate most 17 inch high trailers. Below I have posted a link for choosing the correct ball mount.

• Do you have to Cut Fascia for Curt Hitch 12255 on the Jeep Compass Rallye Models
  
• If your vehicle is the Rallye model, you will need to cut a small notch to allow the hitch to position properly. The Rallye fascia comes down further. I have added a link to the instructions below. Essentially it would be about a 1-1/2 inch square notch.
