Draw-Tite Tested Tough
Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

- We do offer a fit for your 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, but Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 45293 is not compatible with your vehicle. This hitch only fits trucks with an 8ft bed, so it will not work if your bed measures 6-1/2ft long.
Hitch # DT45022, also made by Draw-Tite, will work on trucks with 6-1/2ft beds and has a towing capacity of 13000lbs. I am including a link to a video showing this hitch being installed on a 2004 Silverado model for you to reference.

Also, your utility box may have supports or brackets that would interfere with the installation of the hitch or affect it's functionality. If I can be of further assistance let me know.
