Today on our 2013 Chevy Silverado, well be installing a Draw-Tite Hitch, part number 75362. This is what our hitch will look like once its been installed. Next well go ahead and give you a couple measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole, to the outermost edge of the bumper is 3, from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 20-1/2, and this will assist you with selecting accessories such as a draw bar, a bike rack, or cargo carrier. Now lets go ahead with installation. Note weve already gone ahead and lowered and removed the spare tire for the ease installation of the new hitch.
Next well go ahead and point out the attachment points. Well have a total of six attachment points, three in each frame rail; this will be our forward, center, and rear attachment point. As you can see well need to remove the manufactures bolt for the rear attachment point, hang on to the bolts after you remove them as well be reusing them to install the hitch. The holes in front of this attachment point will be the center and forward attachment points of predrilled holes in the frame. The hardware for these will be our half inch carriage bolt block, conical toothed washer and nut.
Now we have the manufactures bolt removed were ready to go ahead and install the hitch, its a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch while you install this fastener, with that holding the hitch in place we can now go ahead and drop our carriage bolt and block into position. Well secure it with the conical toothed washer with the teeth of the washer facing the hitch and half inch nut, now with the driver side done; we will go ahead and repeat the same process on the passenger side. With all of our hardware in place were ready to go ahead and tighten it down. Next well go ahead and torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. With each attachment point torque specifications, this will complete the install of our Draw-Tite Hitch, part number 75362 on our 2013 Chevy Silverado.
