Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario. Technical Support

At we're committed to the products we sell, and to our customers. The 2 1/2 inch Titan Class V hitch is the biggest, baddest hitch I've ever seen and I've been trailering for 25 years! I was maxing out the weight limits on my factory installed hitch and this bad boy will handle anything my truck is capable of hauling. My truck is an '03 Chevy Silverado 3500 Crew Cab Dually with the Duramax diesel engine and it only came with a hitch that carries 7500 w/o weight bars and 12,000 with bars. The Titan carries 18,000 lbs!! Awesome! Install time was under an hour with no problems to speak of. Check out my pics. One has the hitch installed, the other is a side by side shot of the old hitch and the Titan. 10076

This is the baddest hitches I have ever seen. The install was very simple and quick, make sure you have a friend help it is a little heavy. If you pull a trailer like I do every day this is a must have. Look at the photos posted below by another person and you can see the size difference in the hitches. You will be very pleased you upgraded. 36107

Do you have a question about this Trailer Hitch?

  • Can a Class 5 Titan Hitch Be Used to Safely Tow with a 24 Inch Hitch Extender, 2004 Ford F-350
  • Using an extension will reduce hitch capacity, so using a larger, stronger hitch could be very helpful. The Class V Titan hitch you were looking at is for GM and Chevy trucks, so you would need a different part number. The largest capacity hitch we have for your 2004 Ford F-350 is for 18,000 pounds gross trailer weight and have a maximum tongue weight of 2,000 pounds, 2,500 pounds with weight distribution equipment. It is Draw-Tite part # 45297. The hitch will require you to remove the...

  • The directions (see link) for the Draw-Tite Class V Titan Trailer Hitch, item # 45293, state that this hitch is not designed to work on trucks with beds shorter than 8 feet. We do have a hitch that is designed to work on your vehicle and has the same 2-1/2 inch receiver opening and capacity. The Reese Titan Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # DT45022, is designed to fit both the short bed trucks and has recently been re-engineered to be capable of 17,000 pounds of gross towing weight and...

  • Class V Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD
  • First, some hitch manufacturers have done extensive testing and determined that they are make a hitch with a 2 inch receiver with higher capacities than before. But the 2-1/2 inch hitches are stout and there is no question regarding their strength and capability. So it just comes down to your preference which seems to be leaning towards a 2-1/2 inch receiver, so lets look at those. I have included a link to the Class V hitches with 2-1/2 inch receivers that fit your truck. However #...

  • Will the Titan Trailer Hitch # 45293 Fit on a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with an 8ft Service Body
  • I went out to the warehouse and measured the distance between the bolt holes on the Draw-Tite Titan 2-1/2 inch Trailer Hitch, # 45293 and got 39 inches wide on center for all of the hitch attachment holes. I added these dimensions to a photo for you to see. Along with this trailer hitch you will need a 2-1/2 inch ball mount to fit in the receiver opening. The Ball Mount Kit for 2-1/2 inch Hitches, # EBMK25318, would be a good choice. If you have a 2 inch ball mount...

  • The factory hitch for the 2002 Chevy 2500 had a 2 inch receiver. None of the extenders we carry that would be long enough for you would be compatible with your existing hitch. The TorkLift SuperTruss you mentioned, part # TLE1536 is an excellent choice that would work very well for you, but in order to use it, you would first need to install a TorkLift dual receiver hitch, part # TLC1205. A more cost-effective route would be to remove your existing factory hitch and replace it with a...

First, you can use a custom fit hitch, see link, or you can have a Super Titan hitch welded on by a qualified professional. I have included a link to the Super Titan hitches for you.

  • We do offer a fit for your 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, but Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 45293 is not compatible with your vehicle. This hitch only fits trucks with an 8ft bed, so it will not work if your bed measures 6-1/2ft long. Hitch # DT45022, also made by Draw-Tite, will work on trucks with 6-1/2ft beds and has a towing capacity of 13000lbs. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver and has a tongue weight capacity of 1,950 pounds and gross trailer weight capacity of 13,000 pounds.
