Was expecting a tighter fit for the 2" square steel tube I used to extend the tongue on my trailer. The coupler works fine but I had to shim it as not to bend it's sides when bolting it to the tongue. This will actually fit up to a 2 1/4" width of square tube.11846

Excellent Service-GR8 Product My O'Day sailboat trailer was looking a "bit" rough, so last fall I took it apart and re-doing it completely. The coupler was really rusted. A search online provided E-trailer which gave me the information I needed, eg. the holes in the coupler are 2.5" apart (no further drilling). I ordered the product and it was shipped faster than the original shipping date give and arrived FAST. I plan on finishing up this project with etrailer because I can get all my parts with GR8 service. 5536

  • Tee Nee Boat Trailer Coupler Installation with Bolt Holes Misaligned
  • It sounds as if the holes in the trailer frame are not drilled straight through the tongue, or that the coupler spread a little bit after it was stamped at the factory. The coupler should conform to the shape of the frame when installed. The first thing I would try is use a C-clamp around the coupler, and squeeze the coupler to the frame. This way you can check to see if the bolts will align and slide all the way through the coupler and frame. If you cannot get the bolts to align in this

  • Are There Instructions Included with Trailer Coupler Mounting
  • There are not any instructions included with the Trailer Coupler 1-7/8 inch Ball 2 inch Channel Tongue 2,000 lbs, part # 2833AT. That is because there are two ways it can be mounted. It can be either bolted or welded on, it is up to the trailer owner how he prefers to mount the coupler.
