Today, we'll be doing a review on part number DL13835, the Dutton- Lainson-Trailer-Coupler for a 2" hitch ball that fits on a 2" channel tongue. This is a bolt on coupler. It does use the quick lock ball clamp assembly with a trigger latch. This coupler has a weight capacity of 3,500 pounds. It does have a zinc TUFFPLATE finish, which has 3x the corrosion resistance of a standard zinc plate finish. Couple measurements we will take on this, On the inside-to-inside, which is 2" for the 2" channel tongue.
Another dimension is the distance between the mounting holes on the side for bolting on to the coupler or bolting on to the trailer would measure 3". This coupler is made in the U.S.A. And that will do it for review of part number dl13835.

Item was as pictured. I was concerned about the placement of the mounting holes and they are not centered on the channel as I would like but should be sufficient, and maybe a bit stronger near the frame bends. Product came unassembled with no instructions which was not a big problem, but no plus there. In the packaging there was no receipt or other documentation which could be an issue if fitment were to be problematic. Overall, it's a nice piece of hardware, but some documentation and an invoice would have made the overall experience better.77547

This coupler is well-made, and feels solid. I like the locking mechanisms, which make the coupler feel more reliable and secure than my old coupler. I did have to drill new holes in my trailer to mount this, as the holes didn't line up with the existing ones, but that wasn't a big deal. I would have liked to have gotten instructions for putting the coupler together, as it arrived in two pieces. I did a bit of guesswork regarding how to put it together and adjust it, but instructions would have been nicer. I did notice that with this new coupler, the trailer doesn't make nearly as big a racket while towing, and is so quiet there were times I was afraid I had lost the trailer. Very satisfied overall.63189
