Please note: Disc brakes require a higher line pressure (1,500 psi) than standard drum brakes (1,000 psi). To achieve this pressure, a brake actuator with a 1,500-psi rating is required.
An increasing number of trailer owners are switching over to disc brakes, and with good reason. Disc brake calipers have only one moving part, as opposed to the many moving parts you find with drum brakes. This means that with disc brakes there are fewer parts to maintain, fewer parts to get damaged and fewer parts to repair or replace, thus reducing the cost of maintenance.
Performance increases as well. Disc brakes deliver consistent braking even at highway speeds, unlike drum brakes, which often show a substantial drop in braking torque at higher speeds. In addition, disc brakes offer a much shorter stopping distance than drum brakes.

- What is the Inner and Outer Diameter of the 10-19 Double Lip Seals
- The double lip seal has an inner diameter of 1.719 inches and an outer diameter of 2.565 inches. The seal used in bearing kit # BK2-100, are also sold in pairs, # RG06-050.
I have also included a link to the bearing kits we offer. To determine the correct bearing kit or replacement parts, you will need to retrieve the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped in the metal of the bearings. The grease seal fits inside the hub bore, so the outer diameter is important.

- What is the Difference Between Disc Trailer Brake Kits # T4843000 and # T4841400
- The calipers and rotors in the 2 kits, # T4841400KIT and # T4843000, are basically the same. You are correct about the bearings. The only other difference is that kit # T4843000 is listed as Silver Cad and the other kit is Dacromet. Silver Cad finishing is no longer done in favor of the more eco-friendly Dacromet finish. This is not much difference between the 2 finishes and Dacromet can even be more corrosion resistant than silver cad.
