Titan Trailer Brakes - T4813100
Get the best in brake actuator technology with the BrakeRite EHB. System combines the response time and effectiveness of electric brake controllers with the power of hydraulic actuators for the fastest, safest stopping.
Features:
- Electric-over-hydraulic brake actuator mounts on trailer and hardwires into trailer wiring system
- Brake controller (sold separately) is required to send signal from tow vehicle to actuator when brakes are applied
- Signal triggers pump and motor on actuator, activating trailer brakes
- Pump-and-motor-based system increases response time compared with traditional hydraulic actuators
- Trailer brakes are triggered when you apply brakes in tow vehicle, as opposed to when trailer pushes against hitch ball
- Electronic, proportional pressure valve ensures that braking is smooth and effective
- Controls braking pressure during long-term braking
- Fluid reservoir is isolated and has diaphragm-type filler cap to prevent spills and leakage
Specs:
- Application: disc brakes
- Hydraulic pressure: 1,500 psi
- Vehicle must be wired with an in-cab electric brake controller (sold separately)
- 1-Year warranty
With a faster response time and more proportional braking than traditional, surge-type actuators, the BrakeRite is perfect for nearly any towing application from light to heavy duty. The system works with most in-cab brake controllers to sense when and how you apply the brakes in the tow vehicle. An electrical signal is then sent to the actuator to trigger it's pump and motor. Brake fluid is released and sent to the trailer brakes to activate them. The result is real-time braking that, thanks to the electronic proportional valve system, is also smooth and controlled.

- Will Titan BrakeRite EHB Actuator, # T4813100 Work on 2011 Dodge Ram with Factory Brake Controller
- I spoke with my contact at Titan about whether or not the BrakeRite EHB Electric-Hydraulic Actuator, # T4813100, is compatible with the factory installed brake controller on the 2011 Dodge Ram. He stated that for 2011, Dodge was supposed to have rectified a problem that prevented earlier model years with factory brake controllers from working with this system. He has not heard if the problem has been fixed or not and cannot state if the system will work directly with 2011 model.
However, it w

- Will Titan BrakeRite Actuator # T4813100 Work on a 2010 Dodge Ram with a Brake Controller
- The Titan BrakeRite Actuator, part # T4813100, will work with an aftermarket brake controller on your 2010 Dodge Ram towing an Airstream trailer with disc brakes.
If you have the factory brake controller on your Dodge Ram you will also need to use the Titan BrakeRite EHB Adapter, part # T4846000. This adapter allows the factory brake controller, which is designed to only work with electric brakes, to be able to communicate with the BrakeRite actuator that is designed for electric-over-hydrau

- What PSI Rating is Needed in an Electric Over Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes
- Since your Airstream trailer has disk brakes, you will need a hydraulic brake actuator with a higher psi rating, 1,500 or higher, because disc brakes require more pressure than drum brakes. The Titan BrakeRite, # T4813100, is designed for electric over hydraulic braking systems on trailers with disc brakes and is rated at 1,500 psi. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
In order to control the actuator, you will also need a brake controller that is compatibl

- How To Bleed the Brakes on an Electric Over Hydraulic Brake System on a Car Hauler
- To bleed the brakes remove the key from the breakaway switch to start the unit. Starting with the brake furthest from the actuator open the bleeder screw and allow it to remain open until seeing brake fluid free of air bubbles coming out of the bleeder screw. Close the bleeder screw and move to the next brake and so on until all brakes have been bled. While performing the bleeding process, monitor the fluid level in the reservoir so that more air is not pumped into the brake lines because of low

- What Size Brake Line Fits the Titan BrakeRite EHB and is an Adapter Needed for 2012 Chevy Silverado
- All BrakeRites, including the EHB, # T4813100, have a 1/8-27 inch NPTF port located on the lower front of the housing and a straight 1/8-27 inch NPTF Male by # 3 Female Inverted Tube seat (3/4-24 inch NPTF) adapter. Provided your brake lines use these sizes you will be able to simply attach the line to the EHB unit. Otherwise, there are adapters you can use that can be obtained at local auto part stores.

- Straight Tongue Trailer Coupler to Replace a Titan Model 10 Bolt-on Brake Actuator
- I agree, swiss cheese, while delicious, is not something you want your trailer frame to resemble. Too many holes in it could actually compromise the structural integrity of the frame. Take a look at Titan Zinc-Plated Straight-Tongue Coupler, # T4853100. This coupler has the same mounting pattern as current Titan model 10 and 20 actuators. - Motor Runs on Brake Rite EHB Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator but Does Not Build Pressure
- It sounds like the motor is running but not building pressure. This could indicate a leak somewhere since you have a full reservoir. The next thing you can do is bleed the brakes to ensure the system is free of air in the lines.
I have included a picture of how the EHB should be wired. The black and purple wires in the diagram should have 12 volt power. The blue wire should have power when the brake controller is activated.

- Minimum Voltage Required for Braking Using the Titan BrakeRite for Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
- The issue that you may be experiencing is compatibility problems between the truck and the actuator if the truck has a factory integrated brake controller. First, the minimum voltage to start braking with the BrakeRite, # T4813100, is 10.4 volts.
The real issue is most likely compatibility between the actuator and integrated controller. What you can do is use the BrakeRite, # T4813100, and then use a special adapter, # T4846000, to make the factory integrated controller compatible with the Br

It will cycle when it needs to as long as power is applied. If the 7-Way on your truck allows for constant 12 volt power on the 7-Way, even with the vehicle off, if the trailer is connected it will supply power to the BrakeRite and it will cycle.
The different sound in the motor could be due to the different amounts of pressure that are a

- Where Should the Titan Electric Over Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator be Placed on a Trailer
- The placement of the actuator, # T4813100, is up to you. What is going to be best for disc brakes when they are 40 feet away and the actuator is mounted at the front of the trailer is larger brake lines. Larger diameter brake lines will provide better response time. The instructions, which I will send to you in a separate email, cover the installation method and locations. But you can also install it closer to the axles if you want.

- Slow Response Time with Titan BrakeRite EHB Electric-Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes

The first thing I would check is the electrical connections and make sure everything is intact and that none of the wires are grounded to corroded metal.
Then, check to make sure the brake controller settings are correct and adjust as needed. From there I would bleed the trailer brakes as described in the owners man

- Titan EHB Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Will not Pressurize
- There are a few different issues that could cause your Titan EHB actuator to not build pressure. The first and easiest things to check is the ground connection and fluid level. A poor ground is the most common cause for electric-over-hydraulic actuators to fail. The actuator should be grounded to a 12 volt battery, not the trailer frame. The trailer frame is not a suitable ground location for this actuator.
If you adjust the ground connection and the unit will still not pressurize, you can t
