Today were looking at the Titan hydraulic trailer brake assembly part number t1878700. This is a single servo assembly, it has one wheel cylinder with one piston that comes out against our brake shoes to create a wedge effect inside the brake drum. To measure the brake shoes, measure across the linings to see that its a 10 inch setup for a 10 inch drum. The thickness or width of our shoes is 2 and , so for our hub drum assembly to fit, well need a 10 inch by 2 inch braking system. The mounting plate, 4 bolt assembly, you want to double check your flange assembly to make sure you have the 4 bolt stuff setup. When initially installing your brake assembly, youll need to use a star wheel adjuster to push the brake shoes out to your hub drum assembly so you create an even braking surface.So you need to adjust that star wheel out into the backing plate.
When you couple this, left hand side with the right hand side, it will create up to 3750 pounds of braking capacity. The reason we know this is the right hand side is because the smaller shoe lining will always face the front of the trailer or camper. The back lining will be larger and will be considered your primary shoe. And there you have it for the Titan hydraulic brake assembly part number t1878700.
